-1 Days to the elections?

Well, over on Europa, the systems seem to have fallen over again.

Mid-late last week town stones said 4 days to the end of governor terms, then 3 days later claimed 2 days to go, stuck on 0 days for over a day, and now say -1 days, but don't have any options for nomination of candidates.

Is it just Europa? I'm seriously torn about standing at all, given the abject failure of 'enforcement' of the game rules about harassment, event disruption and cheating, but it seems even if I decide to stand again, they system's going to cause confusion over nomination periods and voting times - again.

I asked Kyronix about this yesterday; It's a mismatch between the countdown and cycle-timing. The elections should start on December 1st.

I only checked Europa and Atlantic but I assume it's the same on all shards.

Thanks for the information. I assume from that 1st December is the start of the nomination week, and voting begins the 8th?

It is the same on Great Lakes been sitting at 0 days for 3 days now, am anticipating the 1st, also. The timers have been screwy since day one, even with the reset of trade deals. Sometimes it's 7 days, sometimes its 7.5 sometimes its 8 before it drops. Voting should begin a week after nominations open so if the 1st allows candidacy to be declared then the 8th to the 15th should be voting.

The cycles always get kicked off on December 1st and June 1st. As EM Emile responded, there's a mismatch somewhere on how the value for the # of days remaining is calculated.

The time on the stone is also not updated in real time (it gets expensive to do that in terms of server resources) so instead it is updated on an hourly basis and on server up. Based on when these events happen there can be some variability.

@Kyronix --- Officially when does voting end?

Because I LOST my Governor rights on Catskills today and the Governor-Elect is set to None. I am currently in the lead, and folks can still vote. But we need to know OFFICIALLY when does voting end?

Elections will end at some point after Mon, 15 Dec 2014 05:13:36 GMT. The stones clock is updated hourly and on server up.

Also might like to consider how this works, Kyronix - the trade deal for Europa/Britain expired and since there's no Governor it can't be restarted.... we really need an option to set it to auto-renew, not just because we sometimes forget but also because the system is slightly flaky, with other timer problems alongside this 'election cycle' timer too.

It seems like the timer should never be turned off anyway, even if there is no governor in the city just have it auto-renew as long as possible for whatever the trade deal was previously set to, if people want it changed, then they can elect a governor to a city with no governor to change it for them.
