absolutely 0% of that was for me or anyone I have ever met in game.
in fact after looking at the newsletter I had less than 0% idea of what was going on so I went and watched the youtube video and once more had 0% idea of what was going on.
so i have come to the conclusion that that entire news release has nothing to do with me.

I knew it had nothing to do with me because the title of the thread was in Japanese and I'm not Japanese nor do I speak Japanese, and I don't play on the Japanese shards.

But I know Japanese players are probably helping to keep this game alive, so I'm guessing it's for them.

If your browser is recent enough, you can highlight the title and tell it to translate to English, and it would tell you that New Legacy was coming to Japan.

Back not long after Renaissance when UO had over 200,000 active subscribers, EA mentioned in one of the game magazines that over 25% were Japanese. I think around Stygian Abyss or maybe shortly thereafter (UO was well below 100,000 at that point), Draconi or somebody in a position to know mentioned that about half of the players were Japanese. They've had a separate official Japanese site since almost the beginning, and it leaned heavy on the anime, and they pumped out a lot more official books (separate from the game releases) in Japan.

It's obviously held the interest of many Japanese players - no way they launch a NL server unless they have solid numbers on both players and Japanese shard activity.

Would be interesting to see the region or country breakdown of UO these days. I love going through the Japanese shards and looking at house designs. Depending on the time of day, they have some very active shards.
