hey not asking for sympathy, just letting ppl know. And Maybe was well known to you but I had no idea it was duped, i've only seen a handful of them on my shard and never on a person willing to part with it.
I kinda felt in my gut that something wasn't right but i was blinded by the want of that cool see through cloak .

I had this happen to me once. I dont think they are supposed to look like a black cloak in the trade window. Ive seen them on vendors and they arnt black. Of course I saw the vendor AFTER I fell for the scam. At the time I thought they were supposed to be black.

I believe "Of the Ring" has the orginal in his collection on Great Lakes.

Yes cloak of shadows is the real deal, which only one exists in the entire game, every other ethrial cloak is a DUPE, and by that i mean every single ethrial cloak you see people wearing are all dupes. However none say ethrial cloak. Putting this duped ethrial cloak in a trade window and putting a regular cloak dyed black in a trade window have the same exact title and are impossible to tell apart. The only way to tell them apart is by equiping them. So basically a scammer will equip it to show that they are selling an ethrial cloak, then the buyer says ok ill buy it and then they put a regular cloak dyed black in the trade window. The duped ethrial cloak which is what everyone wears is a see through color when equiped just liked an ethrial mount. However these items have existed for years so people had ample time to know by now that these are all duped and have to buy them at their own risk. If a person really wants one, they should only buy one from a person they really trust.

In all honesty they should add it to the list, along with Tals Shroud, since both have been duped in some form or fashion. Would be some nice additions to the replica list.

90% of the worlds population is richer than you? Hardly. If you own a TV you are in the top 7-8%. Ever played football Dragonslave? Ever been hit by a 330 lb lineman? There's a difference in being up in the stands with some Mountain Dew and popcorn and actually being on the field and looking across the line of scrimage and seeing five huge men wanting to tear your head off. If you think you can out-perform Croyle or any other pro player,then go to an open combine and try out...you'll learn.

They do not look black on vendors. Their see-through just as they are when their equipped. In a trade window however they are.

They look black in my back pack, I have two of them.

And to Hunters moon, yes I have played football, I played in HS, in bone crusher leagues, and flag. Also wrestled for 4 years as well, trained tae kwon do, currently have been training jujitsu and kickboxing for the last 3 years, ran track, and played little league baseball if you really must know. And no I don't claim to be a professional athelete or a cage fighter, although the thought of competing locally has been very tempting. I've played hurt, and I've been hit, tackled, kicked, punched, knocked out, etc.

And to clarify my statement applied to brodie croyle making more money than 90% of the worlds population, you included. So making a statement about how much a 3rd round draft pick in the nfl makes in salary compared to me, does very little to insult me. The fact is he sucks, and every single time hes got a chance to play he gets an injury. How about we change his name to Mr Glass. If he were a first round draft pick he'd be in the discussion with Ryan Leaf, Cade Mcnoun, and many others...BUST...

Do the math before trusting, selling, buying anything worth a damn. That's a lesson we should all know, not just in game. Had he/she done a quick 5 minute study about this item, she probably would have saved himself/herself some $$$.

Just a heads up to everyone.

The "Cloak of Shadows" is supposedly a unique EM item. Currently owned by Of The Ring (GL) previously owned by Nails Warstein. The cloak is unknown to be replicated duped but it has been duped via dog/changeling (**not suggesting either owners partook in illegal exploitation).

It appears as a black cloak (yes its black and can't be dyed) with no tag reference other than "a cloak".

Any buyers/sellers should proceed with caution. The only safe way of purchasing the item is by placing the cloak on a vendor, set a price value, then equip it onto the vendors paperdoll. While it is illegal to do that, it is the only sure way of buying a "duped" immitation of the Cloak of Shadows.

Therefore anyone smart enough would not attempt to buy an item such as this and it is a "buy at your own risk" situation. Either party of buyer/seller can potentially be suspended or banned if paged on throughout the vendor sell process.
