At what point does HP not equal the amount of strength that you have?

Just curious why it's not point for point with str/HP.

And was this intended?

Yes its intended.

Formula for hitpoints : (Strength/2) + 50.

It's never been 1:1 as far as I can remember. The formula is HP = INT(STR / 2) + 50. INT means "integer" or truncation of decimal places.

Soooo, 125 STR is ...

HP = INT(125 / 2) + 50
HP = 62 + 50
HP = 112

100 STR will produce 100 HP - without any buffs/mods/jewels. Reference: EA Knowledgebase on UO. Scary, they actually had the answer! :D

It was 1:1 when i started 10 years ago. It was very hard to start with a 20 Str character and 20 healthpoints and stay alive for a long time on the first adventures and training the skills up.

Eventualy they changed the formula. If i would start now with only 20 Str then now i would have 60 healthpoints. Thats a big difference. :)
