I believe it depends on how much gold the vendor has on him/her. I've just done a few IDOCS though, one of the experts can confirm and explain further! :)

You have to wait until the vendors run out of gold and decay then the house will fall. Pretty messed up if ya ask me... My uo neighbor has 3 vendors up and his house is decaying.... been that way for the better part of 3 years.

Arrrr, won't the house fall as normal unless they be rented-out vendors?

I think the daily charge is like 20 or thirty gold... The vendors next to me used to be barbed runic vendors so I'm assuming they have millions on them... probably keep his house there till year 2150

That was a question but you pegged the answer in it.

An empty vendor charges 60 gp per RL day. So a mil will last 16 k+ days I think, that's 45 years...

If its the house owners vendors..the vendors and house will usually fall..and any gold left on vendors will be in a tidy nice check( Hopefully!) inside the bag..or on ground under the bag.. If it is a vendor rental contract vendor..it usually will go OSI until that vendor runs out of gold, then the house will fall. Ive been to houses that have turned OSI and on the next cycle drop. Sometimes they will go OSI even tho you dont see vendors because of vendor inventory still on the house sign unclaimed..and you have to wait for that timer to run out as well.

Yes, the cheques are good pickings at IDOCs if the vendors all belong to the owner :) BOD books too, if you have crafters or sell BODs.

Only rental vendors seem to prevent the house from falling. A kind of failsafe to prevent renters from losing their vendors.

I think there's a deadline to say if no one has claimed the rental vendors for a perioid of time, then the house will still drop? I mean even 100k would last an empty vendor 4 years...

60 gold seems to be the default vendor amount when empty. so if your vendor had 1mill on it/60=166666.67 days/365 day = 45.6621 years. arrg! it will never fall.

Unfortunately, preventing the falling of the house this way doesn't include the possibility to reclaim it. A former fellow guild member was one single day too late to refresh her account so the the (very old) Guild HQ went IDOC and petitions and begging didn't help us to get it back. That was three years ago and the house is still there - owned by OSI. There are some days you can even go in.
