Tips on event items

There are a few things that some people do not realize about the Publish 56 events so I thought I would hit on them.

Those with the begging skill can get the following items from NPCs in game:
a giant pumpkin muffin
candy corn
pixie stick
pumpkin pizza (this is rare)
creepy cake (this is rare)
murky milk (this is rare)
Mr. Plain's cookies (this is rare)
harvest wine (this is rare)
small web both left and right (this is rare)

The graveyard spawn produces 3 new items too:
Vampire Bats a new house decorating item. It comes in two colors and can be recovered sometimes from the new "cursed" npcs, spectral armor, and shadow fiends the unseen. (Many people do not know of the Bats and tend to ignore this spawn in favor of the skeletal lich.)
The Skeletal Lich may sometimes have the Conjurer's Trinket (talisman) or Conjurer's Grimoire (spellbook) -on its corpses. both are blood red and very hard to miss.

Those who do the quest that starts in Yew to face Sicarii may find the following on her:
"Small" Spiderweb that is occasional rare loot off Sicarii. Some call it the "medium" web because it is smaller than the spinneret web, but larger than the "small" web from trick or treating.
Venom Sac(Used on the totem to stop the graveyard spawn and will fall in your pack the first time you kill Sicarii)
Spinneret.(used to make the big web with 10 gossammersand will fall in your pack the first time you kill Sicarii)
Gossammers (10 of them are required to make the big web with the spinneret and can be found as loot sometimes on Sicarii corpse) Gossamers is a white version of the tainted seed graphic, and more often can be found as loot on the Death Spiders and the drones that spawn from the corners of the room.

Nice work Val, This will come in handy.

I have heard that Gossamers are also dropping off terathins, but I can't confirm that myself.

High ranking invading NPCs have great loot, random drops and colored armor...
Crimson Dragons have peerless boss loot... special armor included.

Faction Silver:
All red NPCs drop silver when slain... except the Crimson Dragons.
(This was tested with a TB Character)

Recalling into three different GraveYards with the right timing allows you to kill a skeleton lich every 70 seconds.

War of Shadows

Factions cities will come under attack in Trammel by the forces of the Shadowlords
Capturing a town sigil in Felucca allows the Trammel city to be invaded
Sigil must be captured by Chaos (Shadowlords or Minax)
Up to three towns can be invaded at a time
Additional sigil captures will queue those cities for attack, but will not occur until another city’s invasion ends
A city’s guard zones will disappear in Trammel when invaded, becoming a warzone
All Felucca faction cities will have their guard zones will be removed, becoming warzones
Affected cities for the invasion:
Britain
Skara Brae
Magincia
Minoc
Moonglow
Trinsic
Vesper
Yew

Players logging into a town under invasion will be relocated to Jhelom
Teleportation attempts into danger zones will be rerouted to Jhelom when possible

Invading forces comprised of three types
Shadowlord allied monsters (new alliances, beyond just daemons)
Britain: Dragons
Skara Brae: Elementals
Magincia: Undead
Minoc: Plague
Moonglow: Void
Trinsic: Orcs
Vesper: Rogue Ophidians
Yew: Daemons

Army of Shadows (Humans and Elves)
Ranking and promotion system similar to the Ophidian Invasion
Four basic types
Warrior
Ranger
Mage
Healer

Ranks
Recruit
Scout
Corporal
Lieutenant
Captain
General

Corrupted townspeople
Hatred
NPCs aggressively attack players and other NPCs
Falsehood
NPCs attempt to steal from players
Each NPC can only steal one item, normal theft checks apply
Item is returned to the player if the NPC dies or is purified when the invasion ends (player must be in the city)
Cowardice
NPCs flee from players

Invasion of a town ends when the sigil is recaptured by Order (TB or CoM), or the local invasion is completely defeated
Loot
All invasion monsters and army members drop faction silver
1 to 5 normally, up to 25 for special mobs like the Shadow Knight
Silver is multiplied by rank within the army
Rare bonuses possible
All invasion monsters have at least double the normal loot
Army members drop special weapons and spellbooks with properties based on their rank
Army members drop exceptional loot at higher ranks

Crimson Dragons introduced as allies to the Shadowlords, appear as the final stage in the invasion. Shares similar loot to “The Six,” such as Myxkion
Platinum Dragons introduced as allies to Britannia, enemies of the Crimsons
Both dragon races are intelligent, and cause all dragons to go wild in their presence
Siege Perilous and Mugen will have all the content available, but will have the invasion proceed in Felucca

Here is some more info on the faction war as given by Draconi:
Silver:Each of the monsters in the invasion drops a certain amount of silver. This amount varies between 1 and 5, depending on the overall difficulty of the monster.

Example: Minoc monster's are of the plague variety. Slimes are worth 1, and Bog Things are worth 5.

Some monsters that are usually considered boss mobs, such as the Shadow Knight in the Doom Gauntlet , are worth up to 25.

Additionally, the Shadowlord Army (humans), are worth 1 to 2 silver each.
For the Army, this base value is multiplied by rank as follows:
* Scout: 2x
* Corporal: 3x
* Lieutenant: 4x
* Captain: 5x
* General: 6x

Finally, there is a very rare chance that the silver will be given a special bonus on certain mobs.

For instance, a slime may normally be only worth 1 silver, but, in 2% of cases, it will be worth 2x that.
* 2% chance for 2x
* 1% chance for 4x
* 0.05% chance for 8x
* 0.03% chance for 16x
* 0.01% chance for 32x

This overall rare chance bonus does stack with the Shadowlord Army rank bonuses. It is possible to find a General worth 384 silver, or a Shadow Knight worth 800.

As you can imagine, this could lead to *very* lucrative silver gains, even by the lowliest mob, as long as one determinedly attacks the invasion.

Faction battles: Silver and Killpoint bonuses
Fighting enemy faction members in a warzone (any faction city) yields bonus killpoints and silver as follows.
* Silver received is double
* Killpoints are doubled, however, the extra amount is *not* deducted from the victim. The extra amount is simply a bonus given to the victor

Faction Thieves
Faction thieves receive 10 killpoints and 100 silver for successfully stealing a sigil that ends up capturing a town. This must be from start-to-finish, and the thief must remain online until the sigil is corrupted and returned to the town pedestal.

A second thief taking the corrupted sigil from base to pedestal will receive no reward, the original will be credited.

The Shadowlord Army drops weapons/spellbooks as rewards to the top attacker.

All ranks give at least one, and Captains and Generals give one to the top three.

The properties on the items scale upwards with difficulty of the mob, for
example:

Warrior
Types: dagger, kryss, short Spear, club, war mace, war hammer, bardiche, broadsword, scimitar, viking sword, katana, halberd

Recruit:
DI: 1-10%
SSI: 5-10%

Lieutenant:
DI: 20-30%
SSI: 25-30%
Hit Lightning: 15-20%
Ranger
Types: crossbow, bow, heavy crossbow

Recruit:
DI: 1-5%
SSI: 5-10%
Lower Defense: 2-6%

Lieutenant:
DI: 20-30%
SSI: 20-30%
Lower Defense: 16-20%
Mage
Types: spellbook

Recruit:
10 spells
FCR: 1

Captain:
50 spells
SDI: 1-5%
LMC: 3-4
FCR: 1-2
Healer
Type: spellbook

Recruit:
10 spells
Mana Regen: 1

General:
Full spellbook
SDI: 20-25%
LMC: 10

This might be a bit late...

Planeswords/Planeshield were/are also given out in the event. Got loads of them from the fallen angel warriors when Moonglow was attacked.

My gawd...nicely covered Vallend. Does this mean you've found some time to jump back into UO?
Yes Bob you can find me and Anne fighting off the spawn in some city most every night. I am getting quite the nice collection of weapons and spellbooks from all the battling I have been doing. I enjoy fighting in Yew and Vespers most of all, Brits pretty tough with all the dragon types but still worth it. The one I hate with a passion is Moonglow with all those creatures from the Void. Takes forever to kill the Fallen and Horrors and chances are you will get swamped with monsters sooner or later.
Over all I am giving the invasion a huge thumbs up. I just don't know where I will place all these great weapons I keep getting.
BTW Bob you were fighting beside me the other night in Jhelom. lol

Erm...I was? Now I feel silly for not seeing you. Is there a better chance of getting one of those black spell books from one monster than another? Or does anyone know?

Healers give spell books. Warriors give the weapons their carrying.

Correction. Healers & Mages. Healers give MR books, Mages give DCI books. You can see what "class" each invader is by double clicking them and opening their paperdoll or going by the weapon they're holding.

I haven't seen any mages (at least not Generals) yet :)
Of course, I haven't fought too many invaders yet either.

Hello All,

Just recently returned to uo after a little under a year. I cant seem to find this event... Could someone tell me where to find this? Sounds similar to the invasion of Brit a couple years back... I have went to all towns that are listed above and i cant seem to find anything... although i did notice that the NPC's in Brit were attacking me as noted above...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hey Cass. From what I can tell the towns that are invaded are tied in to the towns that are able to be captured in Fellucca under the Faction system. No, that doesn't mean you have to go to Fellucca to experience this. And it isn't always in the same towns. Lets see...Its in Brittinna, Minoc, Trinsic, Moonglow, I think Vesper. I can't remember the others. But sometimes you have to wander around a bit.

Bob is correct in that the towns in Tram that are attacked are based on what towns in Fel have had their Sigils captured. Up to three towns can be under attack at a time in Tram. Best way to find out what towns are under attack is to say "NEWS" to any town crier or Sherry the Mouse Statue. Keep saying news to the crier or Sherry until you have see all three cities or the same same city has been listed many times. Only problem is that the cities will not always be under attack, and it all depends on our friends in factions to trigger the invasion.

Ok, here are all the effectable towns: Britain, Skara Brae, Magincia, Minoc, Moonglow, Trinsic, Vesper, Yew and if you follow this link you can find out much, much more about the invasion itself. (Special thanks to Petra Fyde for finding that info for me). :)
