I just have one concern my computer has a G-Force 3 video card from what i remember reading was that the lowest video card KR supported was a G-Force 3 Video card if i had anything less i do not think i could even play KR. my guess is SA may require more then a G-Force 3 video card to play but i do not know for sure does anyone know?

Now that would be a question for one of the mr Dev dudes. I would expect it to be posted on the SA website.

I checked the site for SA and I don't see anything on specs yet, but not trying to be a jerk and tell you to buy a new system but I have been going through the same situation myself not with a geforce 3 but on the same lines.

I had a geforce fx 5700 and wanted to up grade, that means its an AGP graphics card and well the problem is the price of a new AGP card is really high to what you can get. I got lucky and found one really cheap but its still a few years behind as for cards. Geforce 7600 gs so I should be good.

Now in my research on what to do I found that most motherboards have better on board graphics then what you are currently using, so it might be in your best interest to invest in a new tower, if you can. With that new tower you will also get the PCIe slot so you can get the new video cards which are cheaper then an AGP.

My suggestion is to find a good computer shop that builds them near you and get one built, stay away from the walmarts and best buy computers. If you choose to upgrade your current one your probably looking at on the lower scale of agp cards a geforce 6200 and then a new power supply. Not knowing where you live that could be a 100 bucks or more.

I did make the mistake and bought a new system last year but stuck with an agp card slot ones, it was one of the last motherboards that had them, I regret it now and should have just upgraded I would have saved alot of money in doing so.

Hope it helps, because its sounds like you looking to make a decision.

Though if you upgrade your graphics card, you may also need to upgrade quite a few other bits if your motherboard can't handle the newer cards etc. I'm presuming your system isn't exactly brand new ;)

Next week I order the parts for a whole new system. As specced it will be US$730 plus any shipping/taxes. All parts are brand name from NewEgg.

That beats the lowest commercial pre-built price in the local area by $165 on the base price. It'll have 2.9ghz dual-core CPU, 4GB RAM, 512MB Radeon vidcard, Asus mobo, SATA 620GB drive, 19" widescreen LCD monitor and more - in a 600W case.

Throws some computer specs up please. What type of Processor, & the speed. AGP or PCI for graphics card slot? Operation System?

Reason I ask for Specs is you might be able to use more than you think. You might be able to use a GeForce FX 5500 its a PCI graphics card, & not all that expensive. Can`t say anything fure sure without know more.

KR used to run pretty well on a P4 1.6, with a GeForce4 MX.
It gave me something of a chuckle, when it was easily playable on such a weak hand-me-down system, while those with mighty gaming rigs complained about the system requirements.

In any case, it might be fine.

I am not too computer knowledgeable but this is what i know my computer is a Dell dimension 8200 it came with windows melenium i upgraded it to XP professional my hard drive originally came as a 100 giga byte hard drive i later upgraded it to a 150 giga byte hard drive.
  • I have 756 mega bytes of PC 800 RD ram. i think it has a 100 mega byte front side bus. it also has a 2 giga hertz processor and its a pentium 4 computer. as for my power supply i really don't know for sure but it cant handle a lot might be a 100 watt power supply maybe a bit more maybe a bit less if i remember right.
By the way i have no PCI express slot i have 1 AGP slot and a few PCI slots. my Graphics card is an AGP grapics card which is a G-force 3 video card with 64 mega bytes of ram not sure what type of ram my video card uses i can look it up.

Looking at you computer, it would be in your best interest to purchase a new one, if you have windows xp then get one built and install it yourself, you should save a bit not having to buy an operating system. In all honesty you current computer would be a bit of a pain to upgrade.

Ok i guess i might have to do some research before considering getting a new computer even if my computer runs SA it probally will just barely run it. when i play Kingdom Reborn my computer plays it so poorly even the sound is horrible when i play it the music sounds more like noise then music it is that bad. i have a turtle beach santa cruize 4 speaker sound and system so looks like i need a new sound card too.

Yeah and most decent motherboards now have atleast 5.1 sound built in.
