Repricing items on vendors

Today I went to lower the prices on some items that weren't selling. So, I took them off the vendor and placed them in my pack, then immediately placed them back on the vendor with a lower price. Not in any way trying to circumvent paying fees. What do I see?

"This item's vending penalty has been paid off from this vendor's account."

We have to pay extra to lower the price of an item? Surely this isn't "as intended." Now, I'm not crying to remove the vending penalty. It was a necessary evil. Rather, I propose an option to reprice an item without removing it from the vendor. Perhaps a single click could bring up a context menu with "Reprice Item"

Discuss?

Totally agreed. It's one reason I haven't stocked my vendors. I can't lower or change prices, why bother?

Well, as I've seen with my vendors..
You get a penalty if you change the price in less then 24 hours since putting it up...
BUT because its a new thing, if you reprice any item thats been on the vendor since before the vending penalties started - you get charged.

Yup, if a item has been on a vendor for a long time, like before the patch, you will pay a penalty if you remove it (or have item tagged). If the item was placed after the patch and you have waited the 24hrs there is no problem. At least from what I can tell. Kinda sucks, Oh well. Most of my vendor items are 999gp or less so the penalty is small.

So far from what ive seen everytime I try to reprice stackable items like gems i get a vender penalty fee and the problem with that is I placed them after patch and they on the vender for over 24 hours so maybe something is wrong?

I think the whole vendor system needs a good overhaul, or at least context menu repricing. I'd also like the option of having NPC styled scrolls for vendor inventory, but I suppose the new client/s do that anyway. Being able to lock in positions of items for sale in the KR/SA grid view, as well as classic view, and order them on lists would be great. *puts that in the SA client thread*

The vendor penalty also has one massive loophole which I won't detail here in case it's considered an exploit; in fact I'm sure it must be as it's not at all as intended. If I can figure it out, I'm sure better brains than mine are already using it.

If youre thinking about what am thinking It's just regular playing really circumventing the system doing regular actions which where intended so others wont suffer. They just didnt think about the diference ways it can be used. They should do away with vender penalty as it's just harms every player. Something like the copriright protections on cds who harm the regular buyers and tries to prevent fair use act and does nothing to stop the ones they were trying to stop in the first place.
If 10 people out of 1000 where jay walking should a law be made to make electronic chips into everyones arms so that they are controled to walk on the walk way and get electrical shots if they try to cross in the middle of the street?

I do not sell stackable items, so I cant answer. As for something wrong, yeah, the whole vendor system. It needs a look at (again). Next time perhaps they will ask for player input.

As much as I pancake sometimes about UHallers, some can be creative. EA needs to tap into us a little more. Get our ideas and thoughts. Then do what they want. LOL
