I'm sure im not the only one sitting here waiting for some word for them. This lag is rediculous and the customer service is even worse. Communication is the key. I'd be happy with a lie as of now, anything!

I think we are witnessing a serious lack of capability of man power at EA....I dont think they would ignore this issue on purpose...i just think they are understaffed
WHy else would it take soooo long to address an issue like lag...that is obviously affecting a lot of people (although not everyone, which idicates that cause could be complex)
I just dont think they have enough guns to handle day to day issues

Wouldnt mind hearing more on this issue from EA. I just started having this lag problem everyone else is talking about Friday and it seems to be getting worse each passing day during peak hours.
Well for what it is worth i think a rather disgruntled ex-employee fiddled with something on his/her way out the door during the mass redundancy thing at EA, the timing is just right for such a problem

Yeah, EA would go down the tubes if the maybe 10k people left playing this emabarassly out of date game all canceled. I don't think they would notice.

Actually I have a theory here...
With the new expansion coming out we will have to upgrade our internet connection to play it. DSL and Cable just won't cut it anymore. So there will be a new faster internet connection out there that we all have to get to play this game....

Kinda creepy to me that, according to Mythic CEO Mark Jacobs, EA wanted to shut down UO before they gave it to him....With 100k subscribers relative to what have to be fairly minimal costs (in fact we know from other statements of other company's officials that MMO costs are typically minimal), you'd figure they'd hold onto it and keep it running if only to pay a few bills month to month without having to float loans.

I don't know who runs Every quest or AC..but those games have had very minimual players over the years..but still they are around...
Sims is gone...Other space online games are gone..
But UO keeps on trucking thru..
I think its in the contract when EA bought UO. They must keep it up and running for so long...
Maybe that was also in the contract...EA games had to make expansions for it?
And not tell anyone what they were doing at anytime for any reason?

I tossed that idea around in my head for a bit and threw it out the window last night when I saw that the ping times and packet loss for the fert07 and fert08 routers was back to "normal" late yesterday evening. At this point, my guess is that the equipment being used just can't handle the traffic from UO, Pogo and who knows what else during peak hours.

The devs are probably very nice people, but I learned a long time ago that you simply have to approach this game with a, "this is a big joke" attitude. The customer service is the worst I have ever witnessed and, as a poster stated above, the just don't have the guns to make things happen in a timely manner.
