Could the premature shutdown of trick or treating (was supposed to go on until the 17th, but ended prior to midnight on the North American shards) be based on the fact that certain things (like the character "last on" times in the Guilds section of the paperdoll gump) are done based on GMT, not the local server times?
Given this, the American shards (ironically the ones probably most familiar with the trick or treating concept) got robbed out of 4-8 hours of game play.
When you combine in the lag, massive number of event choices, several shards suffering catastrophes, and the general lateness of the publish in the first place, having aspects of the events shut down BEFORE midnight local time is really bad form - especially when in the past, events did not end prior to server maintenance.
EA, could you find it in you to give us an extra day or two, or even a week, once you make it into your offices and read this? And, if it was an overanxious engineer that input event shutdown codes too early, smack them with a large trout (or reasonable facsimile) for us?
(note: I also sent a bug report in to the same effect)
