We'll see what happens in the morning but I got back this evening, checked and got the lowest ping time I've ever had.

edit: alas, looks like ping times/packet loss have followed their normal morning upwards trajectory

Glad to read that the international network of the 'great 2008 UO lag' -issue has potentially ex-acerbated itself.

I blame Mythic; an income for EA!
I joke and heavily josh.
If Mythic or EA controlled the pipelines of the internet and the lag, then I might write something else;
perhaps something less trite.

Lag? I Hate Lag.
Monty Python *spam* knows it best...

and now for some SNL
problem: I HATE IT
solution: FIX IT
how: FIX IT!
Wow, that constructive criticism is SO Beneficial.
I want to thank all of you for complaining!

*Smileys-a-plenty*
Sometimes we UOers can complain; and even if we are interweb, err, internet newbs :)
(Not at all calling ol' Alvinho a 'newb', by the way. Alvinho is a positive messenger in my book; as are most of yUHallers ;))

Just remember as the same with the gms. They will not tell you what action was takin to said exploiter. Well they wont tell us what happened or who fixed it. So don't assume it was Beastmaster.

I'm still having lag issues, but I think it's gotta be something more on the end of EA. I've got good ping and packets to Lake Austin and the Pacific US shards (heck even Europe), but the Atlantic US shards are no different ping-wise than the Japanese or Korean shards.

My lag is back too, I use to have ping 117-120 from Denmark to Siege, now it's 200+, not fun at all :rant2:

...

After reading thisd post last night, I was a trace and everything looked clear. Today things are back to the way they were... all clear up until fert07 with the last Level 3 hop being ELECTRONIC.*****.

The packet loss is better this morning, but the high ping to GL is still there. I notice quite a few of the hops have sporadic high ping as well, but the high ping on the last two hops at EA's end is very consistent. Tried playing a bit (had my tinker casting EVs outside my Moonglow house to kill a shadow fiend) and it's still pretty bad. If the packet loss continues to stay relatively low, I'll try again later.

I did a trace route and polled Sonoma and got absolutely bizarre results (a whole block of servers was showing 100% packet loss). Logged on and ran around a bit and didn't notice any real difference from what I've been seeing in the last few months. Is it possible that the servers that showed 100% packet loss don't acknowledge polling requests? That's the only answer I can come up with.

given that those att.net routers are happily passing traffic along, I suspect they may simply be not configured to answer to pings (giving the illusion of 100% packet loss).

I told ya so...
it gets better EVERY DAY around 12:30-1 am. (used to be better around 10-11pm..then they briefly fixed it altogether, now its worse than ever)

There seems to be perhaps a 6 hour window at most where its playable anymore...and of course this window is when most of us are sleeping, lol.

My lag is still around ... I'm accessing LA from Central NY area. Glad some folks can get back into things ... I'm just BOD running ATM.

Fixing this lag should be the number one priority, and if there are reasons that is out of their hands then I;d like to know.

My lag is not gone. Same as the past 4 days. Ridiculous pings as soon as my data reaches EA.com.
