Log in timer needs revision...

I understand the need for the log-in timer to combat exploits by people engaged in PVP, but what purpose does it serve in delaying me logging in another character when I auto-defend against a vampire bat when recalling to my house? Near as I can tell, no point in it at all. Is this just something PVM'er are going to have to live with? If so why? The timer was put in as a means prevent PVP'er from circumventing stat loss by logging in another guy, why is it affecting the rest of us?

I doubt it really even slows down many PVP'ers for that matter. Most have multiple accounts they can log in other PVP chars with.

Ive always wondered this myself. Gets quite annoying after a while!! There are some tricks though to log in to your other characters right away and usually work for me every time. If it wont let you log into another character, here are some of the tricks I use:
-Stand at the base of a set of stairs in war mode then halfway up the stairs go into peace mode.
-Open and close a container.
-Hide or invis
-When you get into your character selection screen the first time, click the character you want. It will say you cant log in, then type your password and go into the character selection screen, and click the same character again. Sometimes it wont let you in the first time but it will the second. *shrugs*
-If your logged out in your house, go to an inn. If your logged out in an inn, go to your house.

These are just some things Ive found over the years to avoid the timer. Not all of these work every time, sometimes I have to try several of them. Sometimes I only try one of these and it works.

Indeedily doo. It's quite fine. Been like this for many years.
It may have been like this for years, but for years it has pissed me off lol When a mongbat takes a whack at me and I have to wait for what seems like an eternity to change characters, something is really wrong and quite ridiculous I might add.

In fact when it was 1st implemented it worked as intended. IE: only for player vs player battles caused the timer. When they removed the red stat loss they removed all the vital code that was attached to it save for the timer itself. Now we have a broken system that is really in need of fixing.

If you autodefend, or if you return from monster hunting wait two minutes before logout. This should clear aggressor flag and you can logout instantly. Well, I do not like it too, but it is better then waiting for character to timeout, which takes five minutes or more.

Yes, there is more important things to do in the game than worry about the 2min aggresion timer.
