The game is totally unplayable for me and most of my guildmates. Therefore we would like a full refund for all of our accounts.

And.. the post clearly states.. Post here "IF". You have no issues so you don't know what some of us have been going threw for the last 2 weeks, so until you do, how about keeping the smart remarks to yourself. You can't understand the fustration until you been threw it, and been ignored for 2+ weeks. Kthx!

I think most of us {but I only speak for myself} are beyond the refund bit. I would be perfectly happy with them just acknowlege there is a problem and talk to us about it. Instead of constant posts over and over about the same thing. Yes you know there is a problem well SO DO WE! I don't believe they are doing all they can do to fix it, it's the weekend, UO is not part of thier weekend. Sadly.

thats cause your an idiot, and don't realize that it is an intermittent problem that greatly effects some and partially effects many.

seriously. Quit. Quit playing. Quit spending Moms and Dads money and go outside. Do something else.

I call this lag time the Publish Lag. Like the servers going down during the AOS time. Anyone remember that?

K theres problems. And we are still paying to play this game. Ya not going to get a refund. The best you are ever going to get is a thank you for playing do you feel like coming back someday. Thats it.

Jeeez. Enough with this lag and refunds and fix it etc etc bs. Honestly, Don't like it Leave.

Steps off soap box. Remember Im also effected by this lag. Heck my cooking and fishing has skyrocketed.

Katlene, the two servers for the shards on the North American east coast (e.g., Legends, Atlantic, Lake Superior, Great Lakes, Chesapeake, Catskills, and Siege Perilous) and I believe possibly also the server that handles the Europa and Drachenfels shards have had horribly slow response time and a pretty fair amount of packet loss for many people who normally play on these shards. For me, situated in the western part of the United States, trying to play on any of the east coast shards is just about as bad as when I play on Oceania. The problem seems to have been going on now for well over a week.

I guess we each have our own tolerance level for playing in laggy conditions. Depending on what I'm doing, I can sometimes handle it for an hour or so. But I have to stick to doing fairly mundane and "safe" activities, unless I want to be staring at a gray screen most of the time. I suppose someone might consider the game "playable" if you can get to a situation where your character dies. I'm not sure I do, though, when dying and literally crawling for a rez are 99% of what I can manage to do if I decide to go hunting in my usual haunts while logged in. And working on crafters and trying to decorate or re-do a house isn't much fun when the response time is so slow and patchy that you end up repeating commands or clicking on stuff three times before you finally see anything show up on the screen.

Consider yourself lucky that you aren't having problems and enjoy playing for the rest of us that aren't so lucky.

I am strictly PVP/Factions. I cannot PVP because of lag and I can't farm silver because of lag. I mean literally someone can tell me in channel I am dead and 30 seconds later (during which I am completely frozen) and then the screen goes gray and I am in stat loss again.

Don't think we will ever see a refund but I wouldn't be surprised if we see:

I'm happy for you that you found something to do that's making you feel like you're getting decent value from your subscription payment. Unfortunately, I think there are many folks who don't feel the same way because they want to be doing something in-game that they can't do because of the lag. I'm sure many are thinking about the fact that Monday is the day when certain activities from Publish 56 will end. Perhaps they haven't quite gotten their fill of those events.

It would be a shame if even a third of those folks, some of whom you think are being a bit too vocal here on the forums, became discouraged enough about the situation to cancel their subscriptions. The fact that they are still screaming about the situation means they haven't given up ..... yet. When they all shut up about it because they have given up and walked away in disgust, then we should all start to worry a little more about where things are headed.

Hehe yah, I haven't played Nwn (only other game I have) since AOS was released fired that game back up and started getting my gaming fix on that. Wonder how many others are doing the same but will not come back to uo.

I have recently started to lag real bad, it started about 4:30 CST for me and continues even to when i loged out a few minutes ago, Crafting is all I can do right now. I run about 5 steps and lag about a second to a second and a half, or 4-6 ticks. It is really frustrateing when attempting to play with my limited time lately, and I am unable to play certain charactors due to constant dieing from the lag issue.


If someone can tell me how to do a traceroute and to send it to the great lakes server I will post my connection

Ok, if you want a refund, Stratics isn't the place to try and get it, is it?

Gather your stones and call corporate, be a tough guy there.

I agree it's laggy, so what....."it" happens. I do other things, like turn off the computer, I'll be damned if a games gonna get to me the way alot of folks here are behaving.

Try corporate, if nothing happens, try sueing em, see how far you get.

Either way, griping on a forum won't get you past your post.

Folks my post was about this.

This game has been bugging for 11 years. Its going to be buggy for 11 more years. Do we really need another post about this lag? Im effected by it too.

There are times that the only people who post on these boards is to complain about one thing or another. My theory is...If ya don't like it leave. Simple as that.

Everyone says im spending my money etc etc. Guess what. This is 2008 there are tons more games out there looking for new players that are not nearly as buggy as UO. But not nearly half as much fun tho.

For the die hard UO players... We seen it all. We been thru it all. We keep on paying...

But to see post after post after post about the same thing that is effecting everyone. That the devs know about, but have as many answers as we do...which is none..do we really need another post about it?

Hey this lag is effecting me too. So guess what. I have done other things that I been slacking on in this game for too long. Guess what? I forgot how much fun those other things were.....and probally will continue those things after this lag issue is fixed.


So let the shooting continue...SHould we get a refund..na...Never going to happen. Maybe a shirt tho. Shrugs. I still do have my AOS cloak....s

As for the rest, I wonder how many of you were around when EA was peering through Above.net years and years ago. That **** lasted for well over a year and the lag was like this everyday. I think some peopl eposted on UHall today would have already had a nervous breakdown from the lag back then...heh.

I'm a custumer. When I buy something that doesn't work I either can claim rework or get a refund. To me it makes no sense to tolerate any problem with the game. I love the game, sure, as anybody else and I help improving it contentwise. But this has nothing to do with the obligations of the game provider. He/it has to deliver a playable game which match modern standards.

We should not confuse legitimate complaints with whining.

I'm not asking for and don't expect any kind of refund or even in-game compensation of any sort for this situation. I can still log on, I can still find stuff to do.

I've just been posting trace routes (and e-mailing them) to try to provide information that might help someone figure out what the problem is and to try to enlighten some of the folks who aren't having problems but are apparently getting annoyed hearing that some of us ARE having problems.

For the people who want to compare this situation to playing on dial-up years ago, I say we are years beyond that era. Our subscription rates today are higher and I'm sure a majority of players are also shelling out a fair amount of money each month for a high-speed Internet connection. In my opinion, it is just not realistic to expect people to sit back and tolerate for long playing conditions that might have been acceptable nine or ten years ago.

For folks who are displeased about the threads on this subject, all I can say is that any company worth its salt WANTS to hear from its customers, whether what they have to say is pleasant or not so pleasant. And since we know that the developers do read the posts in this forum, it seems a logical place to post comments that we want them to read. If you don't want to read the complaints or wade through the postings of trace routes, then don't bother opening the threads. It's really pretty simple.

If the situation continues and if I feel strongly enough about it, I just might pick up the phone and try calling someone at EA to voice my opinion. However, having worked for large corporations before and having read some of Mr. Jacobs' recent comments, I'm rather skeptical about how effective that might be. Stopping my payments would probably send a louder message, but seems rather pointless if my goal is to actually keep playing the game.

Folks, I feel your pain. Lag makes my normal gaming impossible. Yet this thread is not helpful. There are plenty of other threads to join in on. This rant is done. *nods*
