The ole Dye Tub Discussion

I was sitting here looking at the furny in my home, and I was thinking what was missing from my Halloween decor? How bout turning those old regular black dye tubs to make em dye your furny black? Id love a nice black sofa or just a nice retro style crib. Just furny not asking anything else.

I think we will all wait to see the day when tokouno gives out the lady M colors to dye our clothing or armor. Interesting concept being that we can have it for our hair color why not a 10 shot of glacial or purple or whatever color!!!

An awesome turn in event would be great for that!
I dont care about the comments of the eyesores and too bright issues. I think the dull colors are just as bad.

Give us some color UO!

PS Off topic, but seasonal ! are we getting a Halloween event again and snow for the winter? Just curious!

Since we can already dye furniture, I would vote no. I would like to see some new content added, but not black furniture dye.

what some people don't know is that there is already black furniture in the game. I'm not sure how it was created but its extremely rare and pricey. I'm a big fan of black and I wouldn't mind seeing it happen.

you can dye most furniture a soft black - just craft it using the elven woods (ash, heartwood, etc.) and then use tokuno dye to color it black. it's not dark black though. i did that with my bedroom furniture. it looks cool i would love to be able to dye furniture dark black.

I did this with my anvil, forge, and water trough. The anvil and forge look good, but the water trough not so much. It would have been cool if the wood image on the trough had been black and the water remained blue, but the water changes to the black also, so it doesn't look all that hot.

i agree connor - the water troughs look ugly when dyed. i wish the water stayed blue too. i love how dyed elven forges look though!

What I'd actually like to see is a new/secondary Furniture Dye Tub that gives access to the colors from the Special Dye Tub and the Leather Dye Tub.

I'd ALSO like to see all of the colors on the leather and special dye tubs available on each other, since they do have areas of non-overlap.

I would guarantee it was the same developers who thought that catering the Japanese audience was a good idea (which it was).

There is (for the millionth time) nothing wrong with neon colors. I don't like how most of them look, but if someone else likes them, more power to them.

One of my neighbors has a lavender house that I have, thus far, singularly failed to burn down -- because I figure it's his house... he's got to live with it.

I wish people would stop trying to force their ideas of color sense upon everyone else. This is PRECISELY how we ended up with the new plants in default color only.

Yeah, I spent 50m on a black stool, myself. I use it as a piano bench. But black furniture in general, pretty bad idea. Most of the stuff would just look like large shapeless blobs.

ermm.... technically BLACK is a mixture of all the colors in the ROYGBV color spectrum.

I wish I knew How the black furnature was made. I am trying to make a piano, and just can't dye the table and foot stool black no matter what I try. There are some instances were having a black furnature dye tub is practical, and painos are one of them. Grey leggs and stool just don't look right.

The black furniture is extrememly rare and it would suck to ruin that but I think black furniture is cool and would make for some very interresting decorating.

I saw a piano made out of stacked cloth rolls once. Looked pretty good.

Pitch black clothing, cotton, wool etc can be stacked up to make pretty much whatever you like.

Personally I Always thought the piano's looked just fine with wood legs..... but that's just me..... and don't you all read the other posts?? I know how to make black furniture....... It's just VERY pricey no matter how you do it.....

Anyway... I would like to have dye tubs in all the colors...... I'd also like to have the Tokuno arti's back..... and I DON'T want the new dyes.... I want the old ones... white, black, rum red...... I myself could care less about the neon colors .... but those three I use a bunch.

Now what would be really nice..... would be if they made a royal blue, more of a hunter green not that puke green and NOT neon green, but a nice hunter green, a more blood red, a saphire type color, something pink (yes pink) a lighter lavender perhaps, More of a golden gold..... not the paragon gold...... and BROWN..... a nice brown.... like yew wood..... I wanted my elves to have brown skin..... like yewwood but no such luck there either.

I'd very much like to be able to dye more things and I would kiss any dev who could fix it so you can dye deeds with either furniture dye tubs or regular dye tubs..... especially goza mat deeds....... I don't know how many I have to junk because I needed to change colors. But that's a dream of mine.

You have excellent taste and great ideas but how the hell do you make black furniture lol I guess I missed that memo *digs back through the posts* Last I heard they made it where you could not make black furniture anymore.

One other thing I think would be cool is a paint bucket and brush for my walls. I know the dev's have tons of stuff to do but I just had to throw that out there. To be able to paint my house would be totally sweet hehe

Depends on whether you're using an artistic or scientific color wheel.

Scientifically, White is the presence of the whole spectrum in a source or a reflected beam of light; black is the "color" of that entire spectrum being absorbed, and not being reflected.

Aristically, IIRC, you are dealing with the pigments that absorb the other light frequencies, to produce the reflected light "color" desired.

Science deals with the light source; art deals with selective reflection & absorption, and use similar terminology to describe opposite states sometimes.
