"When I try to equip my Crystalline Ring it tells me that I am not the correct rank and it attempts to let me equip it anyways. Then it goes back into my pack and deducts 20 modified skill. What can I do to correct the issue with modified skills?
It is not necessary to call a GM for this. All you have to do is log out twice. This will clear up the issue."

Wow, for a while there I was actually giving the devs the benefit of the doubt and being patient about the lag issues..
Not even addressing it as something that will be looked at in this week's FoF is like a big F%$^ You to the playerbase.
There have been numerous threads, I can only imagine how many emails, and many many many players concerned about the state of lag.
Personally I can care less about potted cacti and whether we get x-mas gifts or not (i'm not saying it's not important to others). Personally none of this crap matters because playing the game is close to impossible with the current lag.
Joanne? Anybody want to comment on this? I've sent my traceroutes, I know at least 12 other's in vent right now that emailed uobugs as well...

Christmas gifts are always good to hear about. I don't care if the rest of you aren't excited about that one but I for one am always happy to get something for Christmas!.... So that part of the FoF I am happy with...

OSI homes...... there are a zillion places on GL you can put up a home right now....... so this is of no concern to me though I'm sure to some it is a big deal.

I wanted to know about snow though..... please can we get some snow for the season???? It's so nice.
Also no mention whether or not the halloween stuff really is ending or not on Monday. Personally I wish they would wait another week but that's just me... with the lag so bad most of my guild can't do anything.

I was hoping the issue of blocked spawn in towns with theinvulnerable hatreds cowardices etc. would have been addressed.

No i'm not being sarcastic. Prior to these two FOFs we'd be lucky if there was one question that was answed. Considering last year we didn't know they would be doing a dang thing for christmas at all, then they duplicated what was done the year before. this is a leap! As far as the lag, they've already addressed they are looking into this by collecting trace routing.

That's a good point - I expected to see a polite warning.
I'm not wild about the way holiday boxes are handed out per character rather than per account ... but I guess it's a tradition. *wonders if there will be a new xmas recipe*
I'm a little surprised that there's no news on the lag issue. There's been very little dev activity on the boards this week, so I don't know if this means they have not been aware of the severity of the lag difficulties or if they simply have no good news to share. (personally I've only been affected a couple of times and forgot to send in my traceroutes)
The thought of a double-logout fixing an issue is a bit mindboggling. I'm struggling to imagine how that works in the back end.
"soul forge god"? That was the player's wording, but it's curious to include it without comment (UO's never had gods in its canonical lore has it?).
They need to address issues that actually impact game play. Speedhacking, walking over impassables, extreme lag, one of the 1000 faction bugs, event spawn not working properly on some shards, the list goes on and on.

I expect that solving movement-related hacks makes the game more vulnerable to lag and vice-versa. I may be wrong, but I suspect the vulnerability comes from trusting the client a little too much to allow it to smooth out movement instead of freezing them cold on every network hickup.

Well, I guess they've all gone home now for the weekend. What a wonderful world it will be in UO land this weekend. The chances that we will hear anything or they will do anything until at least Monday (and I have my doubts on even if they will do that) are slim to none. Lag, lag, lag, and they don't care one bit, not to mention that spawn is stuck on more than one shard with no hope of them rectifying it.

I'm not going to criticize Joanne considering this is only her second FoF, however I don't understand why mulitple questions dealing with the same subject can't be answered under one question. For example, why not say "Holiday gifts are coming. We don't want to ruin the surprise of the contents, but remember to have 30 day old characters. Trees will be turned on, as usual, on Dec. 1st. We are considering snow, no promises."

As far as the lag issue goes, many of us have sent traceroutes and such. Why not let them get on with investigating it?
Frankly, I'd prefer they simply work on remedying it instead of using that time to gabble on about it. Could just be me though - often is.
You know, I have that same reaction every time I look in the mirror.

I personally do not think anyone knows why there is so much lag, unless it is a side effect from this event... or old skool plays cast "Kal Vas Lagos!" a few times :O

Sorry the soul forge god was my question and it was just a pun. I was hoping they would consider allowing us to remove enhancements and cratfting material bonus so we can sacrifice them for fragments. Forever its seems the gold was to enhance the best loot and craft armor with val, verite, barbed, or horned. (also lumber forgot) now I feel I'm being punished for doing the rational thing. Anyhow that was the question and reason. Sorry about lag I have not experienced it in game yet though many of my friends have.
