Little tired of see this type of news of cities only to fine nothing there. I went and checked every island in vesper there was not a single Ophidian on any of the islands.

This Cryer is to the SW of the vesper bank, the cryer at the bank speaks of Jasper and Yew.

This cryer is so far up on the roof you cannot see the news when you ask her

And even Sherry the "Rat Looking" Mouse is telling us false news? I did not see a single Ophidian on any of the islands.

Were the NPC townsfolk corrupted by invasion forces?

There have been several posts about the spottiness of forces of an invasion including the CD being visible.

I believe per my testing yesterday evening on Origin that the criers look at the part of the system that corrupts townsfolk as criteria to report invasions.

This invasion system is really cool. If we can get all of the components to work together as they should before it goes away it will be absolutely breathtaking.

I do wish the weapon drops sported the old invasion system power designators, but, hey, can't have everything.

yes there was, as was two other cities, no sight of the dragon, but I was looking for invasion forces to fight, not a dragon.

Another thing I noticed, we have cities that do not have cryers at banks on Sonoma, or if they do have a cryer they are not near the bank, {such as the cryer in vesper on the roof}, or inside another building near the bank so any news they have cannot be heard thru the walls.

On Cove the cryer is inside a building below the bank, Serpent's Hold-MIA, Jhelom-MIA, Nujel'm-MIA, Buccaneer's Den-MIA, Yew-MIA, all missing from the bank.

It looks to me that news on town criers are updated only every hour or so. If invassion goes into city and city is defended by players it take some time to town criers to stop crying.

This news has been all day, since server up.

This one saw Sherry "the rat" the Mouse run by one day and been scared since.

Not sure about other shards, but on Europa, they started spawning that message, about Moonglow getting invaded and sure enough it is, so might be some bugs in the system still, either that or invasion is not started yet, or has been done.

Vesper is the only city that has NPCs that are affected, but Moonglow and Trinsic are blocked to recalling or you get redirected to Jhelom.

Town Cryers in Minco, Brit, Trinsic all have same news

It's been mentioned that they are looking at having the news update more quickly.

It appears that there are ways the spawn can become bugged, but it may also turn out to be that the crimson has become hidden somewhere far away (I don't know what the farthest anyone has had to go to find it). In any case, having the state of one subserver affect the state of another seems like something new to UO ... given the grumpiness of the hamsters, its not surprising to me that there would be quirks.

Lord Drakelord, I fear that all signs point to the strong possibility that the ophidians who have invaded Vesper on Sonoma have learned the fine art of ninjitsu! Why else would the poor townsfolk there have been huddled in fear for so many days? They will strike when we least expect it!

;)

Well, this feature was added on the fly, to help players to find invaded cities more easily, so it is understandable that it has some bugs here and there.

Well they are pretty good as I have been ALL over the city of Vesper, every island. I took a break after my last recon, but I am ready to jump in the saddle and check those islands once more tonight

Don't forget to check around the tailor shop out on the mainland - I've seen the crimson spawn out there a few times.
