Please delay the end of the Event

With all the Lag, and issues with people not getting Spinnerets, I would like to see the current event extended through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. There is a lot do do in this publish and having the extra time would be welcomed at least by me.

A couple of extra days over schedule won't harm anyone and is the very least we should expect given how badly some were lagging. It isn't the fault of the players that we have this lag, so they shouldn't be punished to line traders' pockets or cater to the impatient.

All the lag issues and some servers going down, in my mind, justify a week extension. Not as much the "too much to do" or the problems some seem to have getting spinnerets, though.

In fact, I wouldn't mind seeing a week extension WITHOUT spinnerets - but giving everyone a Venom sac or two on the kills, and making it to where there is a pressing need to actually REMOVE the totems from the cemetary (say, requiring at least 5-10 venom to be applied for the skele lich to spawn, thereby quickly clearing the graveyards in that wrap-up week, as after 20-50 more lich spawns, the graveyard would be cleansed)

Similarly, trick or treating wouldn't be hurt by going to Thanksgiving either, especially since the places TO trick or treat have been limited by the invasions (I've even had to rez people killed in supposedly safe Jhelom, that were killed by graveyard spawn that the lich hunters lured into the city - and said spawn was effectively sitting at the healer to rez-kill)

No I felt the quest and part of that event was wasted time for the dev's, the reward was crap quest was bugged. Lag was only for few days the event been on for 2 weeks. Don't make rest of us suffer through another week of a bugged out failed event. Let them get back on the invasion fixes and finish that so we can moved on to SA. Maybe they can put it on TC1 for you to play with for another month PLEASE JUST LET IT END!!!!!!!!!!!

Rix, I don't know what game you've been playing, but I've been experiencing this lag everyone's been complaining about (associated with the gateway servers for the EA server farms) for about 6 weeks - and searches of the posting history show a lot of other people complaining about it that long, too.

It only became too bad for the majority to ignore since the events started, as the event creatures get all the more powerful when the players are lagged.

I do agree the quest was flawed, though - the flaw being the lack of incentive to actually USE the venom sacs, and the inability for small shards to get them in sufficient numbers to use them even if they wanted to.

Question: How do YOU suffer from something you have no reason to go anywhere near, based on your comments? No one's forcing you to go to Sicarii, after all.

And, while the invaded graveyards are an annoyance to me (I can't get half my bod-runners out for fear they'll die to a shadow fiend), I'd rather they find a way to let US end those events, instead of an arbitrary end (And, living in Yew, I know about consequences of not having an event end cleanly).

i saw that recently on a quiz show, were the moderator asked the candidate a sports related question and was totally surprised by the candidate not having any clue. the explanation was: the candidate assumed, that if he says during the casting that he knows a lot about sports , they would not ask him about this for being to easy for him to answer. in the end, he was busted because of the intelligent move ....

I play everyday like most and I did have lag but it was only for 3-4 days tops and wasn't so bad I couldn't complete a quest. But I also realized I needed to have the computer system and internet connection to support my gaming so I didn't experience alot of lag like those who don't keep up with upgrading their systems and connections. This is no excuse to ask them to delay an ending on an already delayed event.

I don't know if you have noticed but they don't delay anything for anything else. They just don't have the resources to develop content on a regular basis. Add to the fact they change personnel faster than a outbound call center and you have the current 3+ year trend of not having any substantial additions to the game. Delaying an event will have no impact on it.

This is no excuse to ask them to delay an ending on an already delayed event.

Bull. Everyone has an excuse. Personal gain. You have it and so does everyone else. Selfish reasons abound when there is shinies to be had. Whether you want the items to be worth more or you want to get more of them because you missed the first half of the event. There is always an excuse. You don't have to agree with it.

I'll manage to do what I want if the event ends as scheduled - just. But others have suffered lag for more than a few days, and it truly wouldn't hurt you if the event went on a few more days or a week at most. Just avoid the invaded cities and carry on as normal.

There's not even a new thing on TC for such a publish.

And, the other things going on (like Magincia, and maybe the city invasions) won't be stopping on the 17th like Sicarii & the Graveyards.

My feeling is that it's best to just end it.

There's a whole 5 days left, and that includes 2 weekend days.

This is, I would argue, ample opportunity. Let's say they kept it going for another week, but the lag wasn't fixed. Would you all argue they should keep it going for another week? Or until a week after the lag was gone? If so, this event will continue forever, because lag is a perennial "feature" of UO, let's face it. It comes and goes, and all we can hope for is that it is away more often than it is here. And until recently, this has been the case.

Also keep in mind that there's no reward for success in this event. Apart from the handful of totems that have already been dropped, I doubt we'll be seeing any more. I'd love it if we did, but I doubt it an awful lot.

In other words, this event won't end until they flip off the switch.

First off you can't tell me they don't do publishes on any given day because they have many times in the past. Things don't always go on schedule.

Only thing I'm assuming is there are only so many things our current client can handle at one time as far as mobs spawned and items generated in the game. With this publish they gave us alot at once and by doing so it seemed as they left parts unfinished or weren't able to fit them in on time to give us the full effect they were trying to do. And also it seems this "Lag" is one of the side effects so by ending the halloween event ON TIME as scheduled it would free up somethings on the client so that atleast the invasion went more smoothly.

How about they move it to TC so those who feel they want to continue trick or treating and hunting graveyards and spiders can do so and allow the rest to move on and not have to wait for everyone to catch up.

I'm being a bit selfish here, but I have done the quests EVERY night but 2 since they started. I have had lag almost every night. I have tried killing Sicarii MANY times with different chars and only managed to get the spineret on 2 chars after MULTIPLE attempts on each char.

I am leaving tomorrow and won't be home until the 17th. Granted that is MY choice but if things worked the way they should and there hadn't been tremendous lag off and on I might have already accomplished what I needed to. So what exactly will it hurt to have it extended through 1 more weekend?

That said I am okay with it ending when it is supposed to. My PREFERENCE is that they extend it one week. However, it irks me beyond believe that some people want it ended for the sole purpose that THEY were able to do it and others weren't so whatever they got will be worth more because others weren't so fortunate.

I agree this event should be extended I spent most of my time during this event trying to get the spinneret and only 5 of my 21 characters got a spinneret so far so either fix sicarii or extend the event thats how I feel anyway.

• Please don't do any more events until just before SA comes out I personally hate events I feel rushed to get at least one of each event item or I miss out. being a rare collector who has less then a million gold left is no fun and I am getting poorer and poorer by loosing too much insurance money.

• I rather work on skills, bods , steal arties, mine, lumberjack and hunt spawn for gold and items then participate in an event but I don't want to miss out on the event items so me being a rare collector sort of makes me feel kind of forced to participate for I hate when I miss out on event items.

I like UO better when no events are going on at least I can relax then do what I want to and take my time because theres no rush then. I am sure if I wasn't a rare collector I would enjoy UO a whole lot better then i do now but for me being a rare collector is habit now that I cant seem to break thank God I am not a rare collector in real life or I would be in trouble especially with how the economy is doing now lol.

There are some people who have gotten 0/zilch/nothing out of six characters so for those it should be extended imho

You were able to do it. Twice. You are not an unfortunate sole who hasn't had the chance to do the quest.

Personally, I want the event ended because it is helping to create lag, it is creating an enviroment for the kind of antisocial behaviour that keeps people from wanting to log in at all to flourish and it is creating an enviroment where my chosen profession on my main character (begging) is being exploited and cheated by the kind of player that is only out for themselves at the expense of all of us.

It is an eviroment that encourages aggressive selfishness in a game that was designed around cooperative social game play.

I understand what you are saying but I also think that they should get a crack at everything seeing as how the lag issue is not their fault. The new stuff will come and I don't see how waiting a bit until these other folks can participate is going to hurt. Someone may have gotten candy but not a web...is that fair? I sure don't think so. If it were the fault of the players then I would say press on and be done with it but they should not be penalized and have to pay 2 mil for something they were not able to acquire (due to mass lag) themselves. Just my opinion

First let me say that MY sister is one of those unfortunate soles who hasn't had the chance to do it. The time we took her there were only 4 of us there and we couldn't even dent Sicarii. So she will just be left out in the cold won't she?

Now because YOU think that I have enough then it should be ended. Because YOU don't like it then it should be ended. Because YOU . . . because YOU . . . Because YOU . . . because YOU . . .

I have 5 houses and if I wanted 5 webs then I should have been able to get them. HOWEVER, because Sicarii isn't working as it should be and the horrendous lag I, and others, have been unable to obtain this goal. We aren't just asking to have it extended because we are greedy like some people who want it ended because they are, we are asking because of circumstances beyond OUR control prohibited us from completely it as we should have.

How about this? Because I don't like PvP and I don't do PvP let's just not have any new content for PvP because I think the Devs should be busier putting in new content that I am interested in.

I have a life as well. You and I both pay for the same playing time each month, regardless of the time our lives take away from our playing time. When they give us a time table on an event, they need to stick to it!

I had bad lag there for a few days, I played through it...Died and got ticked. There is no way this event should be extended for any reason.

I just think they should fix the problems .. Before the event ends so people have a chance at doing everything before the event ends. luckily i was able to do the sicarii quest before they "fixed" it.
After their so called fix, so many people have no been able to get the spinneret. I tried with my tailor atleast 20 times ( getting looting rights ) and got no spinneret.


my second concern is the corrupted souls not dropping threads of fate enough. The quest asks for 10 of them and they are the hardest to get . doesn't seem right.

As christy has pointed out, the Halloween content is scheduled to end on the 17th.

They have not yet announced when the event content will end (which encompasses the invasions and the rebuilding of Magincia.)

With all the bugs that have been in this publish, it would be nice if they extended the Halloween content for those that have not been able to get the webs and stuff. It was such a pain to get one web from Sicarii that I didn't bother trying for anymore. I spent a couple days fighting lich's, and was lucky enough to get two spellbooks and three of the totems. I also spent a couple days trick or treating and got a full set of the begging items. So I have been pretty lucky, but I know a lot of people that haven't had much luck.

I totaly agree. Lag has been a huge problem. Im also not getting spineretts on all of my chars exept one, and I have no clue why. Id love to see the event extended so I could have some more time to try and figure that out. Also getting a few more of those books and tallys wouldnt hurt either.

I havent had time to do all the stuff, but I would like to see it ended on time for once. I got one web, and a few weps. I can live without having 5, 10, or 25 of each item. Let it end on time, and move on to christmas events. Maybe they have something planned for it.

Add me to the list of folks hoping for an extension. I only have a couple of hours to play every evening, and since Ms. Giant Frickin' Spider has so far failed to cough up a spinarette for me, I'd really like the opportunity to keep trying. I'm on a low-population shard, so there are rarely enough people in her lair to actually have a successful fight. If I'm lucky, I manage to kill her once in an evening, and since she's still being stingy with the quest item, methinks I need a bit of extra time...

Limited how? You have Luna, Zento, Gargoyel City, and Buck's Den that never gets hit. ( I don't like Umbra)

Some are much better than Luna but most go there. Zento has no one most times. Now that I started talking about them they still will not be filled up. Also are healers in each. You still have a week.

I think you just want some more fair weather beggars.

The lag is mostly because of all the junk in Sicarii's room. You have her, the smaller spiders that can come about 8 at a time, and all the players.

Also how do you block her anyplace? If she gets at the others in there you have a bunch that want to kill her.
