Why give us a reward drop with mods like theses? Im sure you have something up your sleeve with theses ,why else would you have them drop in our pack.It would be nice for be able to enhance theses because they dont have anything on them.

A War Hammer of Moonglow
A Bow of Human blood stains

:) + what ever the bonus would be when enhanced just an idea.

I was hoping we might be able to use them for Imbuing/unraveling when SA comes out!:thumbup1:

The weapons they are giving are actually quite nice. Don't know what your talking about. Nice x-bows with 30ssi and hit lightning. Then enhance it. That's nice. My spell book with 6dci 30sdi 2fcr 5lmc is pretty sweet. They are not gonna give you valorite made quality items that would just ruin hammers.

I got a heavy x-bow with 50 SSI, 54 DI and 30 HL.... Too bad I don't have an archer character.

My first thought was that this is a test of the embued-item code, but they are PoF-able.

When you kill soldiers of the invasions (particularly captains and generals), they can drop directly into your backpack. They look like normal items with three properties (DI, SSI and one other - HLD or HL on the one's I've gotten). They cannot be smelted or enhanced.

I hadn't tried to smelt one, but that answers the imbuing question. You can't imbue something that can't be smelted.

Drat! :)

I could be mistaken but I believe only Generals will provide an item in your pack upon death.

Captains and Lieutenants also drop items in your pack, but they are nowhere near as good.

well now if we can't imbue these then killing generals is a huge waste of time. I mean te weapons are ok but who would actually use a warhammer with di and ssi and lightning? Bronze hammers crap out better stuff after 5 hits.
These weapons BETTER be imbueable. I believe that is the whole reason the generals are dropping them. Planned items for imbuing.

wonder if we're reading the same Imbueing info..

You can't Imbue something thats ennhanced with special material. So you would want to Imbue it then enhance it, and I believe it's the same with unraveling your not able to unravel an enhanced item.

These weapons are dyeable BTW with tokyno dye, I wonder if GM Item ID has any effect on the weapons like the old days?

I tried enhancing the weapons, I got a message that said "This item is already enhanced with a special material"

I am more interested in the original post, do you mean your 2 weapons are "named" weapons? That's the first I've heard. Were they in the loot or dropped in your pack? Where they off generals?

so... they are dropping spellbooks and bows with mods that are nearly impossible to duplicate when crafting... not that you can't duplicate something with 50+ lightning or SSi, but you might have to burn through 20 to 40 mil of runic kits and never get one.

you know... every time they come out with something like this, it screws crafters in some way. i just don't understand.

i propose they alter crafting. when you go to use a runic, you should be given a menu with sliding bars that indicates what mods you are looking for. when you slide one bar up, the others go down... and if i'm trying to get a bow that is balanced, i slide the balanced bar up a bit and my % chance for it to be balanced is increased, but my % chance for it to have mana leech or something is decreased.

some of the most famous crafters in the game have left since ML because of this kind of stuff... it's simple... runic crafted weapons should ALWAYS be better than anything (other than very few arties, maybe) that can drop from killing monsters.

it takes a person seconds or minutes to kill a monster and get a nice bow like that, but it takes a crafter weeks and 100's of 1000's of boards just to MAYBE get a runic kit that will actually make something worth a crap... then they have to chop or buy the boards... then they have to sit with their arse tight clicking away, hoping for the chance that SOMETHING they craft will make up for the 1-mil-per-click runic they're using.

Sorry, I never updated the imbuing thread to include information posted on the official SA site. Maybe I should.

http://www.uoherald.com/stygianabyss/gameoverview/skills/imbuing.php

Magical items cannot be magically unraveled if they cannot be recycled or if they are made out of special material.
Someone said the new items couldn't be recycled, so I was pointing out that if they can't be recycled they can also not be imbued.

If I understand imbueing right... there's going to be a lot of uber weapons in the future....

Which I think is going to screw this game over more unfortunately.

Wouldn't be hard to run around with a weapon with max SSI, Hit Spell, Hit mana, HLD all near cap...right?

I can only see my sampire now... taking a weapon with 80+ hit mana/life leech, add some SSI to it, throw on some more mods...

It does screw over crafting and it's sad how bad runics suck now. Well, when you look at cost and reward. 2 mil (low price) for a barbed kit to buy, 15 charges and MAYBE get one item worth a couple hundred thousand, if that. Or burn through a ton of leather/cloth to get the bod, then have to track down the smaller bods to fill it.

Heartwood runic... 14mil average price to buy, you get what, 15 charges as well? What are the odds of making a bow worth the price of buying one? Or the hours + wood to 'try' and get one yourself.

You can just as easily get a group together and chain DH or Lady Mel and obtain a lot more better items then spending mils + manhours just in hopes of making something noteworthy.

I'd rather see these weapons left alone, but allow the armor to be unraveled and be used for some good mods...a full 70's mage armor plate suit would be the shizzle.

How does the crafter get screwed? Once enhanced an item can no longer have PoF used on it. That's the best thing that's come crafters way in years!

Sure, Weapon will be uber, but they'll wear out over time and new ones will need to be crafted. That the way is SHOULD be!!!!!
