Sicarii is not always giving us the Spinneret

I think the Halloween quest is partly broken i follow every single step with a character and fight sicarii with that character for the very first time and it takes multiple kills to get a spinneret. one of my characters fought sicarii 7 times and got no spinneret and then everyone left so now i have to wait. yes i got looting rights each time and followed every step in order first but got no spinneret. if this is a bug dev team please fix it so that we get the spinneret the very first time as long as we get looting rights thanks.

That's intentional, just like getting the golden skull to get into the Doom gauntlet. You have to be alive to get the spinneret.

I went down last night with my tamer (first time being there with him) and no spinneret.

I was alive the majority of times that sicarii died and no spinneret so no it wasn't because I was dead when sicarii was dead.

I did the quest on four of my characters the first 2 days the quests were available and received the spinneret thing the first time sicarri died with each character. I haven't tried it since with other characters but guildmates are reporting that they are not getting the spinneret thing when they kill sicarri now... then I see this post.

Conclusion:

Seems to me that either the devs intentionally slowed down the spawn rate or there is indeed a bug in the system.

Just to keep posting it cause I don't knwo if the devs see it, same happened to me and I theorised:

"I'm gonna guess the "two random players get gossamers" addition fudged the whole drop.. my bet is only the two random people that get them get their quest counted as finished, and obviously only if they hadn't finished it already."

Had the same thing happen to me as well, just keep killing Sicarii until she gives you the spindle.....took me 7 trys...argh!

yeah, we just had a devil of a time with a band of first time Sicarii hunters... I dunno, seems a bit unfair considering the short duration of the event

Ugh, just spent hours killing Sicarii again and have only two poison sacs to show for it (both found on her corpse). This is broken. Please fix it Monday.

There were people not getting theirs after several trys. I felt so bad for them. I'm glad I ran all my characters through before they messed it up.

I had to try twice before they "fixed" her to get the spinneret. After the fix, I had to try 4 times. Haven't tried again since.

I was down there all day Sat. and never once got one. I stayed till I and one other was the only ones left. Only 2 is usless down there.

I have many more toons I would like to bring down there for webs, but I'm not sure I have the time to do it since it's broken now. It may take my weaker characters a lot longer due to the spindle drop being broken and my available UO time.

Please fix it like it was before. Looting rights = spindle on the first try.

I think i figured out what is happening, i realized i skipped the part where you read the journals for the switches... i did it on one character and got the spinerrete.. so make sure you go back and read journals in khaldun for the switches...

Took three of us nearly an hour to kill her, and no spinarette for me. I only got a poison sac, and that was off the corpse.

I died so many times in the process that I lost three levels of fame, but I was definitely alive at the end. Here's hoping this is corrected before the end of the event: I want my big web!

Requiring more (or a lot more) than one kills of Sicarii to get the web can discourage farming by weak chars. That is fine. But it would be nice to know that this is intended.

My niece and I did the quest last night (this was on LS). We killed Sicarii three times. Of those 3 times the first time I didn't get looting rights. The second time I got looting rights and no spinneret. Finally the third time got looting rights and a spinneret. Of course I died 15 times in the process of killing Sicarii those 3 times.

We went back with my sister to try and get her a spinneret but there was only 1 other person there and after almost an hour we hadn't even dented Sicarii so we left.

Well i was in the same situation with everyone and was getting frustrated.. and after going back to read the journals AND flipping the switches "just to be on the safe side" I have not had a problem getting the spinerette.. Even on new chars.. i got all of mine done and got it on the first try... SO read the journals AND flip the switches...

I flipped the switchs and went inside. Got back out after 3 times dieing in there with my things. Spent now 2 days with several diff parties. And the mage still has none. Waithing for another party to get back in. Some parties can go through killing her reasonably fast. Others it is an all night thing. Partly because of the smaller spiders and her both attacking you. Some are only able to cast a blade rather than an EV. They never even got looting rights. Being dead at the last part is no help since most are working on the kill not helping others that have fallen to her. They then rez you after it is all over. The weekend is the only time you get a large enough party in there to even think of doing it.

Easy? No Way.

If your in a web at the last part your dead till the end. Only ones getting them right now are the larger guilds. They see to it that everyone in their guild has one and Gone. I have actually had to get out, rez just outside of the dungeon. then get back down there. Then I get my stuff and try all over again. Only had to do that 2 times but that was 2 times too many. By the time I got back the second time everyone had gone.

I did get more than enough gossamer though. Plenty of poison sacks. But that was being in There for two days.

I'm sorry to hear you have had not only bad luck but managed to get in there with a bunch of jerks too.

We had MANY ghosts last night on LS (me being one SEVERAL times) and everyone was VERY helpful in rezzing as soon as they saw a ghost. Not once did I see anyone wait until the fight was over to rez a ghost.

I woulda loved a second web, but I guess with it getting turned off tomorrow, and the fact that our shard is so tiny, I won't be.

At least I got one! =D Would be nice if it was fixed though =(

I also think it broken, my main tamer did the quest when it first started and got the Spinneret the first time. Yesterday I took some more folks down to Sicarrii and helped to kill the first one that night and got another Spinneret in my pack.

When I saw it pop in there I went ????? and exclaim very loud in Vent to guild members that I had received a 2nd Spinneret. I gave it to someone there that had been trying for over an hour killing Sicarrii and not gotten the Spinneret.

Maybe coincidence, but both ones I got were because I was the one who landed the killing blow, I think. Subsequent Sicariis that I killed would pop gossamer into my pack, upon dealing the killing blow.

I keep checking every hour or so today (today is the first day of our "weekend" so I actually have lots fo time to play today =D) to see if anyone is there, but no luck so far =)

Bummer of Bummer -Stoped fighting the invasion to get webs for my 2nd account - Ran 2 guys through every step - only got Ven sack off Body - no Spinneret for either of my guys -- many deaths many many -- ran out of insurance - now nobody is there of GL -- I have 20 gossmer ---- and no Spinneret -- odd no spinnerets for sale in Luna either --
I know the Spinneret popped into pack before they "fixed" a bug - Ahh well --Dev's gave us something nice- greedy exploiters forced a bug fix - that pretty much ruined my day!

Sounds like RF- Greedy investment bankers - forced a "bailout" fix -that didn't work and .. well that;s another story!

I think that there was so many people that got no spinner that the red book should turn into a web deed.

That would do two things. Soften the blow of the lost chance, and bring the price down for the ones that will be on sale after the event.

I was one that fought so long I had to go out to put more gold into the account to cover my things. When I got back the people that was down there had left.

Makeing the event longer will not help since there will be so few going down to help.
