Moving Crate Help

I left some vendors unattended for a few days, they disappeared, and all of their inventory went into the house's moving crate.

I can't find any information on the UO website about how to retrieve items from a moving crate, let alone how long they will stay there, do they disappear, anything of that nature.

Please help!

Are they in the crate at your own house???? I think if you open the crate you can click them once and get a gump.... But it's been a very long time I'm not sure that's right or not..... also if it's not your house..... I think you click the house sign...

Double click your house sign, then choose "customize." Under that menu choose " Relocate moving crate",. Where ever you are standing, the moving crate should appear beside you.

DO NOT move anything around in the crate...only take it out.

If the vendors were yours and on your house, simply go stand where you want them to appear and then hold down on your character, you should get a options to "get Vendor". it will appear where you are standing.

I just have one more questions, though, do I have a time limit now to reclaim these things in moving crate? Will the decay or disappear?

a week or so ago I noticed there were things in the moving crate at the mall where I have some vendors, ( I could see a quantity on the house sign but had no access) I called my friend who owned the house, he came to see what was in there. It turned out to be the vendor of another renter who quit about 6 months ago. We thought he'd removed his vendor, but apparently he just let it fall. Its stock and clothing were still in the crate.

If the vendoris on someone elses home you can retrieve them by click the home sign once and then you'll get a gump to get vendors back and all items/gold.

If the vendor that fell belongs to someone other than the house owner, he has a limited time in which for him to reclaim his items that was on that vendor. If he does not claim the items and the money within that time, it now becomes yours.

If the items were on a vendor belonging to the house owner and it fell, the items will just remain in the moving crate as though you put them there...indefinantly or until you take them out.

Great, it happened again.

Okay, so it is my house, they are my vendors, the vendors are standing in the moving crate.

Is there any way to restore the vendors without having to go get new vendor deeds and empty their inventory and restock new vendors?

You stand where you want them to be, then you click on yourself and get your text menu up and there will be an option for something like.. Get Vendor. It will bring up a list and you click the one you want to stand where you are. Move to next spot and repeat. Vendors that are placed on the very front stairs will pop into the moving crate each time you customize your house. I have this happen at my shop whenever I change any little thing

Thanks but I can't do it, there is no option when I click on myself to Get Vendor or anything similar.

I called a GM but will probably be waiting for 2 days...

The vendors ran out of money, so I opened up the moving crate and gave them all some money, but that didn't help either. I can't get them out of the moving crate, but if I click the house sign I can reclaim their inventory. But I don't want to do that since I would have to go and buy new vendor deeds and start all over again.

That's the problem right there. The only way to get a vendor out of the moving crate once it has run out of money that I know of would be to reclaim the inventory and then place a new vendor. Best thing to do to keep this from happening again is to make sure the vendors have enough money on them to cover their daily maintenance fees.

The Get Vendor option is for when you customise the house and build a wall on it's head or something (hence forcing it to the crate same as any other item that mighta had a wall put on it). Every time you attempt to enter the house after that, you'll get a message bugging you to take the vendor out of the crate again...

Ditto for items placed on stairs, and certain items (eg soul stones, bulleton boards) will go to the crate after each customisation no matter where you put them.

It's not possible to put things into the moving crate, nor into the strong boxes inside the moving crate. It IS possible to put things into containers inside the strong boxes inside the moving crate...

If they ran out of money, there is no way I have ever heard of to bring them out. You just have to get new ones and move all the stuff out. It is like they quit because you didn't pay them, but they hung around to give you back your stuff...
