New spellbooks [Blessed] on Siege!! Devs!

The new invasion spawn spellbooks are blessed on siege. Is this what the devs planned for siege considering the very high mods on the capt. and gen. spellbooks? It is like having 2 siege blessed items now. It will create unbalance and much complaining. Best nip it in the bud now Drac.

and this is why having different shards with different rulesets is unmanagable...

Just about every time they patch or fix or publish anything, it tweaks something on a "normal" shard that messes Siege or the other way around.

Creating a "Siege Ruleset" shard was a bad move to begin with...

They should have created a way for the Fels on Shard A to combat Fels on Shard B or something... Battleground style... but ruleset shards they obviously can't manage.

That's a matter of opinion. My view on it is that Siege was the right thing to do and leaving PvP on regular Prodo Shards was a bad move....

If EA could consistantly produce two GOOD code sets I'd agree with you... it seems like every publish, bug fix, etc creates new problems... because they are trying to code for multiple rulesets at once... they already have multiple rulesets at once within every shard... Fel/Tram rulesets but to throw in Siege servers needing their own "we don't get this" differences, it seems the devs can't keep up.

Nothing's Blessed on Siege aparently, unless you have a "Bless Item" deed...

It's the First Siege Commandment!

okay, that is where you are mistaken. Items with properties are not suppose to be blessed on siege. Normal items like checks, runebooks, spellbooks (GM made, no properties) bod books, and AoS clothing are blessed. There are no Item blessed deeds on Siege (unless some lucky person has one from an IDOC) but everyone gets one personal siege bless. There are CBDs, but again they can onl be used on clothes with no properties. And ninja belts.

I don't know why I just took the time to explain that. I feel like I just fed a troll.

Now, can we get back to the orignal topic please? This thread is about getting the blessed spellbooks fixed ASAP, not about the existence of Siege.

I think the devs are doing a pretty good job lately. They did fix the faction item problems on Siege right quick. Took them what all of a day or two to fix the price and make them lootable.
Also they fixed the feedback thingy so you no longer have to enter your account name *rummages about looking for the linky*

Yes, you are so right! I forgot that players on Siege on the second class citizens of UO and only deserve fixes in the dev's spare time. Thank you for setting me straight. rolleyes:

What's the WORST that happens? They can't fix it retroactively and maybe a hundred or so "Blessed" spell books are on your blessed Siege. How unbelievably game changing... if you kill someone there's one item that will stay with their ghost and you won't be able to loot.

I'm not saying it shouldn't get fixed eventually, EA dug themselves into this crack hole creating so many different rulesets they have to code for so they now have to figure out how to maintain them... I'm just saying this isn't an EMERGENCY!!! There's no need to hit the panic button just yet.

Fact is if I slapped you in the face with a fact... you still wouldn't know what it is.

Actually Siege is the Felucca ruleset. Siege is the ruleset Ultima Online had before there was statloss, before there was Trammel, before there was item insurance or any of it. Nice try and BS tho

And the largest guilds on shards are PvP oriented guilds. And PvPers make up a large portion of the subscription base. I'm not as foolish as you to claim a number of... but it's definitely a lot.

Now feel free to continue trolling this thread... I will no longer entertain your ridiculous amounts of ignorance.

100% LRC? I thought only item could be personally blessed. Even if it was the AoF, that's a 60% chance to fail.

What if the mod on the spell book was +15% LRC? Still a 45% to fail.

I understand that you don't like it, but does it really qualify as unbalanced and game stopping?

Please refrain from trolling the thread with Siege bashing. EA doesn't read the Siege boards often if at all, and this is about letting them know of an issue we have.

And if you played Siege at all, you would know exactly why any blessed item with mods can be unbalancing.

Because Siege is an active shard with active people who pay the same amount that you do. They play on a special shard that was created by EA many years ago and deserve the same respect that normal shards get. If the items are blessed on siege then they should be unblessed ASAP.

Siege gets very little as is, they deserve to at least be heard!!!

Do you even play on siege at all. If not then why do you even care one bit?

Siege has no insurance, players there don't carry around items they can't afford to lose. Adding in Blessed items with really good mods circumvents the purpose of this. You don't see mages running 100% LRC because most gear is GM made, because first time you die in PvP your gear is gone......there's no passive reveal and thieves can steal on any facet, so yea having a blessed item with really good mods (for Siege Standards) and still having full access to your Personal Bless is really imbalancing as it allows a select few to hold an advantage over others in terms of gear and equipment. This is why people were outraged when the new faction items were behaving on Siege they way they do...

Look at it this way.....

If you don't have one of these blessed spell books and are using a player crafted scrappers, and fight someone with one of these and you die, he gets to take your book and your gear unless you used your Personal Bless on the book or what ever other item. Now if he's the one that dies he can keep not only a decent spell book for Siege but he can also afford to and keep a high quality piece of equipment like a Rune Beetle Carapace also because he's able to use his Personal Bless on another Item and not on his book.

My guess would be only when death occurs or during a steal attempt.. mayhaps disarm as well. But it is truly an easy fix.

Why do you assume I have never played on SP?

I tried it out for three months, didn't like it and went about living my life.

I still maintain that this is NOT game stopping. I do not want the devs wasting time on a shard that a few people, who are hanging onto what the game used to be, play.

The devs have much more important things to do then to waste time on this issue. If and when they have the time, they should circle back around to it. At best, this is a Christmas list item.

Yeah I get it, but I have a really hard time justifying a dev who has limited bandwidth dedicating time to fix this when it really isn't horrible. I could understand when people had the 7th year blessed gifts and were running around because some of those were pieces of armor and that was truely unbalanced. A spellbook doesn't seem like it warrants the same response.

It might not be game stopping but on a low production shard where most folks know each other it's really annoying. I don't think it would be a complex fix to do this though since it should use the same method that prevents Crafted Spell Books with Mods from dropping. Should be a simple matter of copying the code from one and adding it to the other.

An extra blessed item is indeed game changing for us. I am sorry if any feel we are taking away Dev time. All we ask is for no bleed over. We realize it can be a pain in the butt, but Siege is our game.

Don't hate us... One day you may decide to join us. It happens.

Yeah, because a possible blessed SDI/FC/FCR/LRC/pwnsauce book on siege is much less unbalancing than...ahh, nevermind. Some people just don't get it.

seriously...most companies i know would fire their employees for making the same mistake twice...how many times did the devteam forget about siege and mugen? like every publish? i'm not saying the people responsible should be fired, but they should definately consider themselves lucky that they still have their jobs...

oh and shanshu...thanks for bumping this thread so it will finally get the DEV's attention! your trolling actually serves our purpose

Being able to rez and instantly equip upwards of for 130 in resists and 15% DCI just with two pieces of blessed armor, not including the one personally blessed piece (lets say RBC) for a total of 169 total resists, 15% DCI, Mana Increase 10, Mana Regeneraton 3
Lower Mana Cost 15% is understandably unbalancing.

That player can be up and back in game in a lot less time and have a significant advantage.

So now mages and tamers both have a blessed item and a blessed weapon! With the possibility of a tamer having more than one blessed weapon, if control slots allow!
