Sicarii not fixed

Since players whined about the grossamer they've made the drones harder to kill. It was a tuff fight before this supposed fix. Now I don't even feel it's worth the time for a house decoration.

And as far as the economy just think about all the webs acquired before the fix and how much they will be worth since you made this fight even harder.

I mean hell who wants to go die a thousand times to a spider for a web decoration when you can sit at the graveyard and kill Skeletal Liches for the Conjurers Trinket and book which I feel is alot more useful then a web in my house.


I understand you have time frames to produce publishes and all that but damn give it alil more thought.

Are the drones just harder to kill or is Sicarii harder to kill?

I believe the complaint people made, a legitimate complaint in my opinion, was that too many people were camping the drones so that they could farm the gossamers and make tons of gold and thereby making it impossible for regular people wanting to finish the quest to actually get any gossamers. What needed to be done was upping the spawn on the drones so everyone could have a chance at getting some gossamers.

whats to stop them from farming them in tera keep or in wrong dungeon where they seem to be spawning outside the teleporter from Sicarii room. Now the drones are harder to kill so this effect the fight with Sicarii in a major way. Drop rate should of been increased which they say it has but I'm not seeing it, you still have to loot them off the corpses if you can live long enuff. After 4 hour fight with 2 mages a tamer and a archer and some people come in and out no one got a small web nor any grossamers and trying to loot the drones was hard as hell with 2-3 dread spider Sicarri and 15 other mobs on you at same time. And no sooner we killed everything and we had maybe 45 secs to loot and theres Sicarii again.

1. more HP to the drones so necros can no longer 1-wither kill them all and hog the looting rights

2. gossamer drop drate increased on drones so more chances of finding some when you get looting rights

3. increased number of drone spawned so even more of them to loot

4. reduced the respawn timer so you spend less time waiting for a chance at them

5. two random players among those who killed Sicarii will receive 1-4 gossamers in their bag

6. doubled the amount of gossamer Sicarii drops on her corpse

7. the tera keep drone spawn is maintained to give you an alternative gossamer farming area. (not an actual change)

Still seems pretty easy don't know what people are whining about.

In two hours I managed to get 112 gossamers in Terathan keep and another 101 in Sicarii's room when no one was around and I had all the time in the world to kill them all.

If people spent less time whining here and more time in game trying you'd probably have nothing to whine about in the end.

I never had a problem with collecting grossamers. But when you look at the reward compared to the book and trinket. Why would anyone bother with it when it's easier to farm the Skeletal Liches for better rewards.

In no way am I able to solo Sicarii so in order to complete this quest I need a group in the room. Not many are willing to go fight a hard fight for a house deco and I don't blame them.

After I made this thread I gave it one more try and when I got to the room Sicarri was stuck on a wall couple mages were just casting ev's at the cocoons just to farm the drones. Try kill Sicarii with 20 drones targeting you and 2-3 dread spiders since the mages just cast invis of themselves.

The changes are :

1. more HP to the drones so necros can no longer 1-wither kill them all and hog the looting rights.
This isn't a big deal until all of them are on you with Sicarii .

2. gossamer drop drate increased on drones so more chances of finding some when you get looting rights
I'm not seeing any increase I've been farming these since day one

3. increased number of drone spawned so even more of them to loot
This plus the HP increase was too much one or the other would of worked.

4. reduced the respawn timer so you spend less time waiting for a chance at them
Not much time to regroup at all now

5. two random players among those who killed Sicarii will receive 1-4 gossamers in their bag
Managed to kill 5 today and not once did anyone in the room have any grossamers drop into pack nor were any small webs found

6. doubled the amount of gossamer Sicarii drops on her corpse
only looted a sac of corpse all day no grossamers

7. the tera keep drone spawn is maintained to give you an alternative gossamer farming area. (not an actual change)
Increaseing the spawn and drop rate here giving players alternative area to farm grossamers sounds better then making the fight with Sicarii not worth the time for the reward.

So the only thing you managed to do is make the fight harder and made those who took advantage of the bug with the book before the fix alot richer. Annoucing the fix brought the bug to alot of peoples attention and the night before the fix Sicarii had more action then ever.

With Melissa, there were peerless regs and the chance of a crimson to draw people down there even after they'd completed the quest. Please add something like that to Sicarii. I've gone there twice today to fight her on LS; the first time there were no other players there, the second time there were a few but they left after killing one Sicarii. As far as I know, the room is empty right now.

I don't see anything about the spinneret drop rate changing, was this unintended?

Before the change you were able to recieve a new spinner just by going back to the burnt house and rereading the book. Doing that before each time to killed Sicarii gave you a new spinner. Now I believe they made it the way it was meant to be more or less but it's too late now they've messed up and allowed players to accumilate dozens of spinners before the fix. Now with a tougher fight in Sicarii's room no one wants to go since they have all the spinners they need just having to farm grossamers in Tera Keep. And instead of acknowledging they screwed up they respond with a repeat post of the changes.

Sicarii already gives a chance of medium spider webs that can drop on her corpse (bigger than the begging trick or treat web but smaller than the large web from the spinneret), and the venom sac. Hunter Moon posted pictures of them in this thread.

There was never a "drop rate" for the spinneret. Any character was only supposed to get it once the first time they completed the quest. There was a loophole that allowed players to get multiple spinnerets per character, that was fixed.

But if you are saying you did the quest for the first time on this character and haven't received the spinneret from Sicarii even though you killed her twice, then that would be a bug. Please confirm whether or not this is indeed the issue.

Bethari had that happen on LS last night. I believe she eventually got it, but certainly not the first time though she did have looting rights. We were all in party, so perhaps she had rights to loot but not enough personal damage for the spinneret? Just a thought.

Thanks for the clarification. Also for helping those people who don't have the time to camp the area just to turn around and sell the gossamers for outrageous sums, finish the quest. We might actually have a chance now!

I can confirm this. First of all let me say that I am having a blast and the event is really fun. The night before the changes I took an entire account through the quest up to access to Sicarii. As of yesterday none of them got the spinneret on at least one fight each with looting rights. A few I did twice with no luck.

I did have a blast doing it though. I dual box my T-Hunter to stay hidden and watch for Sicarii fights. I caught myself laughing many times at all the mayhem from the gossamer farmers. I love the beefed up drones. At many times the room was filled with them and some fella would be desperately trying to cast meteor storm will all of them on them plus Sicarii and her dread children chasing him. He would run to a corner to invis and another group of drones would pop there.. so funny.

I went down to sicarii today, saw one guy there farming the little spiders.
I then i attempted to kill sicarii but died,
Asked for help to invised guy (no reply, suprise, suprise)
Then i tryed again and killed it solo (took a while even with 120 disco)
I used Greater dragon with sicarii discoed and got a spinneret np,

Just a thought here. I noticed that none of my charcters that were supposed to get spinnerets... got any gossamers. Which means they weren't randomly selected to get a gossamer drop. Is it possible that the spinneret drop got tied into the gossamer drop distribution logic? Those that completed the quest and were selected would get gossamer but no spinneret.

Yes I was in a party that killed her twice last night and neither time did I receive the spinneret. I was using a greater dragon. The first time I was dead when she died but did receive gossamers. The second time I was alive and received gossamers but again no spinneret. Its hard enough to get enough people down there to kill her and now we don't always get the spinneret. That is just wrong.

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but I may have missed it, can someone tell me how the drop rate of the small web off Sicarii has been changed, does it drop more or less often?

It seems to have something to do with being partied...I had already completed but was helping a guildy we were partied and he didn't receive it so we dropped party and next time he got it.

Regine, how about half-reverting the fix to the book?

In other words, Keep the part of the fix that prevents additional Spinnerets, but make it to where when you reread the book, after the first trip, you get more poison sacs.

It might actually allow the event be finished, in terms of bringing down totems.

There is more benefit in NOT destroying the totems then there is in destroying them.


The Skeletal Liches drop is more useful then a spider web in your house.

I have to say I wondered what was happening when I did wither got killed went back & no corpses to loot took me a couple minture to figure out what was going on & what happened. LOL
I was gathering the goss for my other character.
It's ok now I know & just play a little differant.

anyhow I took a character down to help kill Sicarii so I could get my vemon sac & spinner thing. I did not get one even though I could loot.
I was like hmm, I must not done enough damage, so tryed again fighting different & added explosion potions to help do more damage ( which had help a couple of my other character that are not too good), looting rights again but still no vemon sac or spinner thing.
SO I believe when they fixed the other issues they broke the drop for characters that are there doing the quest for the first time.

Yes this is the first time that char has been there. I killed Sicarii twice and got no spinneret.

Yup, that's the issue. One character did use EVs, but the other is an archer. I did get a gossamer in my pack on the mage when Sicarii died, but I'm not sure that was from Sicarii since one of my EVs killed a drone at about the same time. Neither of my characters was in a party (all my friends are busy killing liches )

Like I said in another thread, I killed five in a row and didn't get the spinneret or venom sac I was supposed to, and it was my first and only time through the quest. Didn't get any gossamers either.

I'm gonna guess the "two random players get gossamers" addition fudged the whole drop.. my bet is only the two random people that get them get their quest counted as finished, and obviously only if they hadn't finished it already.

I know u have to be alive when Sicarii dies I had to kill her 3 times as i died just as she did 2x but 3rd i managed to stay alice & got teh spinner
