interesting looking, looks almost exactly like KR... but think it is nice... and it kindof reminds me of Diablo 2 a bit and its new Diablo 3 thing

SA actually includes a new client AND a new expansion.
From what I can gather, it will be much like KR but with performance improvements. If my notes from the Chicago Town Hall are accurate (and I didn't post this in my write up because I missed what they were saying and therefore am not sure if it's accurate), the default graphics in SA will be legacy style graphics and not KR style graphics. (It sounds as if it will be a toggle-able option like it is currently in KR).
(And, I respectfully disagree with you that KR sucks asterisks. I play with the KR client every day and love it).

Oh, I'm so ready for some of those - saw Rikktor this evening for the first time ever (no particular reason I was in Ilsh, honest). He cast paralyze on me just by spreading his wings - by the time the animation finished loading, it was time to turn everything grey.
(I've been averaging about one client crash per hour - just from memory leaks as far as I can tell)

I don't think we're getting a "new client". I think the dev misspoke.
Think about it...EA blew a wad on the 3D client and failed. Now they're doing it again on the KR client and few people use it. I don't think EA would invest in a 4th new client when most people still use the 1st one.
I thought EA was going to make minor adjustments to both 2D and KR clients to be able to access SA. There's going to new art, no doubt, but not improved graphics.

2. Better memory management with a smaller footprint
3. As stated above, better art and animation management
4. A laundry list about 3 miles long provided by the Focus Group and other forms of feedback
The SA client will be the same engine as the KR client, it will just have a years' worth more of experience, polish, and enhancement.

I think the SA client will be a lot like KR too. It will be better, though.
Now... A lot of people haven't been keeping up with KR and have unrealistic opinions of the quality of the client. There's a bit of a learning curve with learning KR, so it's difficult to transition into the KR client, but once you get the hang of it, it's really not that bad.
I actually prefer the KR client to the 2d client for a number of things. It runs a lot better than it did before. The only thing that screws me up in KR is targeting. I'm really used to using my mouse wheel for last target (cursor last target in KR) and target self.
The KR client is really good at reducing your keystrokes for repetitious actions. It's also better for creating and organizing your macros.

And sometimes working with new things is not the way to go either.
There is a lot to be said for still existing (working templates/ games/ways).
For example, Thank you and please still work wonders. Another example is the loss of Immersion farting around with overly complex arse backward UI's.

But i think also it was very bad, that you with new patch have not suported the KR Client fully, no animation for supernova, no line for shrine gem in GGManger, no fix in GGManger for Faction Towns, no fix for Elections. Sorry but this is a kick in my face, as a KR player, this must not and should not be. Who says me that you will support the new client, the former Third Dawn Client was old but better supported then the new KR client, hello!?!

It's just you. Diablo 2 is still superior to KR because of the "feel" and atmosphere and Diablo 3 is still simply untouchable for KR. KR is simpl put, dull. It is much less of an eye-sore than 2D though- just my subjective opinion.
And yes it seems this screenie is simply KR with "Legacy" on.
I wonder why they waste time creating 3D models to show us on the Stygian Abyss page if we're not even able to discern Body Types or Elves from Humans apart from colouring.
Yeah you are right, this is why i asked about a screenshot. What i dont like at KR is the unsharpness, they want to make it run on slow computers, but i think this isnt the right way. If you want to play Diablo 3 for example you must have a good machine, thats for sure, why not also for KR.
Damn good point. Everyone seems to want KR to look like Diablo 3, but have the system requirements of the 2D client. I just don't think you can have it both ways! If the 2D client is going nowhere, then we have our low footprint client. So make SA awesome and don't worry so much about getting it to run on a friggin Pentium 3 system.
But yeah, I'm ready for some more info! To me, the UI was the absolute worst part of KR, so I'm anxious to see what they've cooked up for the SA client.

I really can't stand how blurry the items are in containers. Also, I would like to see a lot less clunky display of the weight, armor resistances, luck, etc.

I really hope the update the art/graphic in the ne SA client, i can't stand the look in KR! its just wrong for me, dunno why really.

I'm also not a big fan of KR, but I refuse to pre-judge SA on the basis of that. When they're READY to show screenshots -- as in, when the UI has already been through a round or two of in-house game testing -- then I'll make my decision as to whether or not I like.
Rushing them into showing screenshots will only backfire, since often the UI for a game isn't complete until near the end of the dev process!

so, this "new client" is for SA only? or is it applied to the whole game? and can we choose to continue playing 2D and/or play SA in 2D?
The SA client will be an evolution/rewrite of the KR client. The SA content will be accessible to the 2D client.

I still think they should make it like never winter nights. I think that graphic design is very slick and still does not require a rediculous comp to run it.
