A Decent Map?

Hi Everyone:

Does anyone know where I can get a decent map of Britainia (Trammel)?? You know, one that actually has city names or at least names I can read??
I really want to go out and walk the land, but dang, it'd be nice to know what direction the nearest city is in.

I've been to the Grand Sosarian Atlas and, personally, it's not very helpful. I mean, even if I could buy one would be nice. I'm surprised that with everything UO sells (outside the game) there is no way to buy the maps that came with previous versions.

Or is there??? :please:

Thx forum community :thumbup1:

As to nearest city, the enchanted sextant that characters start with will tell the the direction to the nearest city and to the nearest bank - doesn't say which specific city, though.

UO Automap is good for such things, but it is abandonware, and needs some mods (in the gray area of legality) to show a lot of the stuff from the ML era.

UO: The Eighth Age had a booklet of maps in it with city labels, for all the lands up to that time (no ML).

ive never got one of these and ive made new chars with both kr and 2d.

also, speaking of new chars.. when i made the ones in kr and i got the rune to the dark knight, it only worked once tho....

that thing was also too easy to kill :(

it sucks he gives you 3 things but you can only go once.. so you cant get all 3 :(
it says you can go again in a few days but it never lets you go again...

Off the main UO Stratics page, scroll down and watch for utilities section on the right side. UO Spawn map has the basic Tram/Fell landmass and cities as well as the dungeons and shrines.

The spawn guide is not as accurate as it once was, but the layout of the land for these 2 facets is here. Use the other items Basara mentioned as well. Spawn map does NOT interact with UO so you can study offline.

Stange - both characters I've started since ML have had them, but that might have been before old Haven blew up (I started all my characters as paladins). However, if you ask around, someone might actually give you one, as they were extremely common. They first appeared with AoS, IIRC, and I have like 20 of them at home I don't use, as I know where I am, just by using the radar map, at any point outside T2A or Tokuno, from 6 years of exploratory hunts.

I think EA could make a lot of money by releasing a big Collector's Edition box with up-to-date cloth maps, a good manual, some artwork, and maybe a soundtrack. They could do this as part of Stygian Abyss and charge a significant amount more for the extra goodies and I think a large portion of the UO population would buy them. I know I would love to have a big UO box similar to Age of Conan... something to go on the shelf next to my original UO collector's box.

I made some maps using insideUO and rendered them in GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). The maps have some historical references with location names. While making them I found an easter egg in ilshenar. The mountain near the harpies nest has a skull in it. The Map is on the spot accurate with moongates, shrines, dungeons and the like.
