IMO the event spawn in cities needed a little something else to motivate the citizen to fight. I was excited when I saw that [replica] were in the code notes. If the replica versions of those items were a reward for fighting the highest lvl of the spawn (albiet a very small chance) you would see ppl freaking out to fight the crimson drag and such. Thiss would have been a fun idea. On my shard most ppl don't even give a darn about the town spawns.
Also what are we supposed to do with glass daggers? Stick'em up our...?

People don't seem to be lacking motivation on my shard - it's pretty much cleared as soon as it spawns anywhere.

Mind you, finding a lone crimson dragon left wandering the streets can be a problem for me (I challenged it for a while and although I managed to survive the experience, it rightfully gave me about as much respect as a mosquito). But they don't seem to last long either so someone's up to the task.

The night before last, we had an invasion in Trinsic, on Europa.
Me, and another person, both in GM gear (although we quickly swapped weapons for winds edge/soulseeker).
Interestingly, we did alright, up until the CD spawned. Then, it was decidedly not glorious.

I am on Cats. Town spawn is OK to deal with, but when Crimmy Drag comes out it is a ghost town. I hate being the ghost.

It's hard to motivate people to do first tier spawns, because there's no real loot in the first tier. I haven't seen a second tier spawn yet, but I'm assuming it's better loot (possibly a bad assumption). I've found that some of the first tier spawns are really fun to hunt, but the loot is weak on all of them. I like doing britain, moonglow and yew especially.

I like doing crimson dragons, but I prefer to at least have a small group to do them. I play on origin, so it's sometimes challenging to find enough people to do one. I have never seen more than 10 people at a crimson and I have done a few with as little as 4. It's really fun, but the loot is not worth the deaths. I'll still keep doing it, because it's fun, which is why I did moonglow last night even though the loot wasn't worth the time. The fun was worth the time. I love how they integrated buffed up doom bosses into the spawn pool.

Question: do the buffed up Doom bosses drop arties?

And there is loot in these spawns worth having for the casual player, so long as you don't fight in Britain or Moonglow. It just takes too long to kill super greater dragons and super Doom bosses. And for me, there's very nice loot for me if my long term plan works out. (There's an item which I know will happen that will ruin my plan to pieces, but it currently does not exist in game, so I'm taking a risk)

Also, has anyone even so much as seen someone ranked higher than lieutenant?

For now, I think I'll ignore the CD's, focussing instead on the more temporary web-and-conjurer drops... but they are fun to kill.

I cant say I'm 100% into fighting this invasion, but thats more my mood. I don't think extra bonus incentives would make me want to more...

I am also on cats, and have done 4 dragons so far. Each and every one there was me and maybe 2 or 3 others that killed the town spawn to get the crimson dragon to spawn. After it appeared we tried it for a while with no luck, just lots of deaths. So I had to make the rounds to all the grave yards and Luna bank spamming where the dragon is and that we need help. When I returned to the dragon there were an extra 5 to 10 people there to help.
It's obvious the town invasion is a failure as an event when I have to go recalling around to plead people to come help!
Although you can say its kinda cool that all those people will come help, knowing they will die a few times for nothing at all but the fun of it. Since the loot is PATHETIC.

Maybe the problem is that there is too much stuff that can be done. You have people doing the quests to get the web and rubble, others fighting in the graveyards, some fighting the town invasions, and others fighting in factions to get the towns invaded. Maybe they should have held off on the town invasions until after the Halloween events had ended.

Up the loot table for town invasions and I bet you'll see more people. Back in the day elementals had some of the better loot, so did ophidians/terathans. That's where you could find your good magic armor/weapons. Why not do the same? Make em a tad beefier and let them drop at least mediocre items. Low level spawn I don't even bother to open the corpse as I know there's a measly 3-500 gps, a couple gems and pretty much a GM weapon. Yipeee.... that isn't incentive at all.

And this colored armor... at least give us an idea of why it's there other than looks? If people are going to hoard this pixel crack in 'hopes' of it later unlocking some magical properties... let us know so we don't waste lock down space.

Since this game is so item based now, might as well make the invasion the same. Give us a bone for getting to the CD. Those damn angels in Moonglow are no walk in the park, especially when they fly over buildings.

I actually have enjoyed the invasions, but I have a horrible time finding active ones. Usually by the time I've found them at all, they are at the CD stage of which my template is not feasible. Part of me wishes there was a way to know for sure if an invasion would start in an hour or two so at least I'd know to expect one the rest of my play time.

I've only killed a handful of them. So far I haven't received any doom arties from them, but I certainly wouldn't rule it out just as I wouldn't rule out void demons dropping that kryss they drop.

I think the doom bosses should drop doom arties because they're about 3x tougher than the doom bosses themselves.

Well, I have picked up more than a handful of planeswords and shields from the ethereal warriors. So I wouldn't rule it out either.

*runs around*

*finds all the three invaded cities completely cleared out of invaders*

To get more people involved in fighting off the invasion, the invasion's going to have to last a little longer :)
