well, since the "alchemy guide" on stratics isn't really a guide...

1) how do you make specially lined kegs?
2) how do you make pots directly into a keg instead of into a bottle

thanks.

specially lined kegs are made by a tinker, but some of the components I believe are made by carpenters. Once you make a potion (in a bottle) drag it onto the empty keg to pour it into the keg. After that first potion is in the keg, any more that you make should auto pour into the keg if you don't have any empty bottles in your pack.

In the other forums there's an Alchemy FAQ that describes exactly how to make a Potion Keg so I'm not going to detail all the steps again here...

Once you have a potion keg in your backpack if it's completely empty, you have to "Prime it" by putting in one potion of the type you want... like make a deadly potion while you have some bottles and an empty keg in your backpack and it will use a bottle and give you a Deadly Potion... then you dump the potion in the Keg and you'll have a "Nearly Empty"... Then you can make 99 more potions and it will automatically feed them all into the keg instead of into your bottles.

If you start with a keg that has some potion in it, you may have to bring the keg into your backpack, pull one potion into a bottle so you can recognize what it is and then put the potion back into the keg, then keep making more potions and they will go into the keg.

Sorry,

It's a little harder to find but I had found it on the Carpentry/Tinkering Board...

1.8. How do I make a potion keg?

To create a potion keg you will need to follow these steps and have at least 75.0 Tinkering skill:

First, you will need an open keg; these can be the kegs from dungeons, gypsy or brigand camps (have to open and empty before using for the potion keg), or can be crafted. To craft these, you will need at least 57.8 Carpentry skill along with the following items:
3 barrel staves (requires 00.0 Carpentry skill and 5 boards to make - can also use the ones recovered from a shipwreck)
1 barrel lid (requires 11.0 Carpentry skill and 4 boards to make)
1 barrel hoop (requires 00.0 Tinkering skill and 5 ingots to make)
To turn the materials into a keg go to the Carpentry menu, select "Containers", then "Keg".
To turn your open keg into a fully functioning potion keg you need the following materials:
The previously made (or looted) open keg
10 empty bottles
1 barrel lid
1 barrel tap (requires 35.0 Tinkering skill and 2 ingots to make)
To turn the materials into a potion keg go to the Tinkers menu, select "Assemblies", then "Potion Keg". If successful, you will be the proud owner of a working potion keg waiting to be filled.
