Draconi,Regine,Anyone at this point char issue problem

I have a char and it seems that it is only happening on this char.every time i enter a dungeon it is pitch black i can't see i thing?

The spell Inlor,night sight poitions,Aroumr with night sight,and jewlery with night site will not work.:sad4:

It's only a dungeon thing it doesn't happen with anyone of my other chars.

It's getting quite annoying that i can't play this char in any dungeon.

i have tried paging a gm and i am either cued to 30 which is a long wait for nothing. i have waited for a gm before and they say that they have not the power to fix this...

Any one have any insight as to what might be going on or what might fix this? Thanks

Under options, display, look and see if dark nights is checked for that character.

It's not i believe thats the first thing i checked...and also i believe i should say this is in 2d...checking now to see if it's the same in kr update in a sec...

Kiara, which client are you using--2D or KR?

Do you happen to have another computer at home that has UO installed? If yes, have you tried looking at that character while playing on that computer? Just curious to know if you get the same results there too. Testing it out might give you some good additional information to submit in a bug report.

(If you haven't tried it already, don't forget you can copy your UO macros from one character or computer to another. Assuming you use the 2D client, they're stored in a text (.txt) file in your character's folder under this path: C:\Program Files\EA Games\Ultima Online The Eighth Age [or whichever version you have installed]\Desktop\[accountname]\[shardname]\[charactername]\macros2d. Will save you a bit of work not having to re-establish all those macros if you feel like playing that character on someone else's computer. I think you can do something similar with the KR client, but I don't know where each character's info such as macros is stored in your computer's directory.)

Hubby and I BOTH had this happen a few times in the past. Don't know why. Hope this will help. You have prob tried this already...BUT just in case...we had to recall across a server line and right back to the same dungeon. POOF!!!! We could see.

And what dungeon do i need to be in and where do i need to recall to to cross a server line. Than back


Plus to answer the quest from before...

it only happens in 2D. And on another computer it is a little lighter but not much casting night sight doesn't work to light anything up theres no change...

OK did the server jump thingy (i think) still dark as ever....no one has any clues or as never had this happen to them before....it only happens on one char... mean while i'll try a gm yet again and wait while farming threads i guess.. but in hte mean time i do wish to have this resolved

I had that with one of my chars, nothing would work
Called a GM, he told me the char must be bugged and nothing could be done. Stopped just short of telling me to delete him and start over.

*shrugs*

No idea why they fix this stuff tho

Perhaps you could try doing the two heritage quests? It'll mess with any rare hair dyes you've used, but temporarily changing race might do the trick (given that elves are supposed to have night sight all the time).

Im taking it your a human. Do the human - elf quest then elf back to human that should restet the server code on that char. GL

Man ....what a pain in the ...well you know where. Lack of QC is what causes this on production shards.

Here's something that might clear it up. If you are comfortable navigating to files and folders on your PC this should be a snap.

Logout of UO and close UO. Go to the folder you installed UO in. Find the "desktop" folder, then the "loginname" folder, then "shardname" folder for that character, and finally the "charactername" folder. Rename that folder by adding a letter or number either before or after it. Login to UO on that character and see if it fixed itself. If so, logout of UO and close it again. Then go back through the folders again and you should find a new one with the character's name on it as well as the renamed one. Copy the macro files from the renamed folder to the new folder and you should be set.

I will surely try this one out and let you know if it works....rolleyes:


As for going from human to elf then back again...:lol:What are you smoking...but really i will try that has a very very last resort...



When i paged a gm i got lucky and got a striaght forward answer, "I am sorry i do not know what could be causeing this and regret that i cannot fix your issue at hand.Please submit a bug report.I am sure they will look into it.But don't look for any Replies."

Only thing is i get all these answers as to what i can try..and no concern from the DEVS them self. I guess it's good to know the players got your back.

To log in put uo_ your uo username and password.
Tell them the name of the last GM that contacted you
it will be on the email he sends you and hopefully through
that you might get someone to at least help you address
the issue.

Im have a problem that no ingame GM can help with or
EA Rep and this is the link they sent me too and at least there
is some form of communication this way.

I hope you get this worked out so you can play with your
characters as it is intended because I know how you feel
I have one that I cant play with either because of other issues.
