Something in the graveyard revokes hive friendships...

Just wanted to warn you all - something in the graveyard, I believe the spectral armor, will revoke your friendship to the solen hive. If you plan on fighting the new graveyard spawn you might want to do so on a different char than the one you're friended to the hive with or be prepared to have to dash through a bunch of ants for the seed quest (ugh!).

I had earth ele's attacking stuff in the graveyard this morning, so I'm unsure if they got a hit on something else before the spectral armor that I had them attack. I *think* it was then I got the msg about my friendship being revoked.

Anyways, just a head's up for you all...

I wonder if it's fighting in the graveyard or just using Earth Ele?

I was running a bunch of 5 hives to collect seeds this morning and decided to kill an Ant Lion with an Earth Ele instead of my usual Energy Vortex... I had killed 3 or 4 this morning with EVs and no problem but using the Earthy I lost my hive friendship... and I know he didn't kill any ants because I was in the 5th hive and there are no ants in there.

I'm thinking something changed and using Earthy may be bugged to lose friendship no matter where you are?

ugh i hope not - I use earthies all the time (cast 2, then have them follow me as i stealth into sticky situations - draw the bad things attentions to them, then dance around casting where i need to)

I'm redo'ing the friend quest now - I'll cast an earthie after that and see what happens

My nightmare killed an antlion and my friendship was revoked. The quest to get it back doesn't seem to work either. I can't get the queen to talk to me.

Alright - redid the friend quest and then I went and cast an earth elemental. As soon as I told it to kill something (happened to be a random skeleton along the road west of vesper) my friendship was revoked.

Krista I had that problem too at first - until I finished the quest I was on with the Naturalist, so make sure you finish up that quest too if you have it going (I'm unsure about other quests interfering with it). Also, to start her talking to you, you have to drop (any) seed on her - she doesn't talk until you do.

Also, she doesn't seem to like "Fragrant or Peculuar Seeds" or she wouldn't take them from me anyway... I had to recall back home and grab an "Old School" seed to give her before she'd talk to me... don't know if maybe I just wasn't close enough or something else was conflicting.

Thanks KittyKat, That does help. I finished the Naturalist quest before trying but.. It's been so long since I've had to reestablish friendship, I'd forgotten all about the seed. I'll go give it another try.

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem B4. the Queen doesn't seem to like the Yellow seeds, only the Red and Blue ones.

The Patch Notes said that your pets killing solens would revoke friendship as intended... I had previuosly had pets kill Solens accidentily and lost friendship, though sometimes I didn't lose frienship... seemed about a 50/50 shot that it would happen...

I wonder if this Earth Ele problem is caused by how they tried to fix the above? What other pets or summons are going to create issues? We'll have to go play with summoning air and water eles, kill stuff (not Solens) with nightmares, Dragons, etc... to make sure it's only Earth Eles that are misbehaving.

hmmm, good catch. I don't think those are part of her "I'll take those off your hands, tyvm" list.

If I can find a blank spot somewhere to add another "to do" sticky, I'll try to squeeze that in, but obviously not in this publish.

Any ideas why Earth Ele's not in the hives would cause us to lose hive friendships? and whether it's only Earthies or if there's other stuff we need to keep researching? Are your QA people looking at this?

It's not a big deal for me if it's only Earthies... I can remember not to cast that for a while but I'm just curious if I'll be fighting Sphinx with my Wyrm and suddenly lose friendship there too?

It doesn't seem to be just the earth elements. I Just lost friendship again fighting a corupted soul. I lost it Earlier fighting an antlion. I was using my nightmare both times.

Hmm... well that's unfortunate but not the worst thing in the world...

I'll work around it for the time being by just grouping my hive runs... I know I want to collect a BUNCH of White and Black seeds so I just have to do runs on that toon and not kill anything... just run back to back collecting seeds... after 10 or however many I'll go do something else and probably lose friendship...

When I'm ready I'll go get friendship and collect another 10 or 12 seeds...

Not perfect but it can work for now.

Thanks for the warning everyone. I was about to do the friendship quest with my archer since Flora is always bogged down. I'll stick in on a spare character instead.
