I was wondering the same thing about what resources Jeremy could tap in Chicago. I remember reading a few times that they had a facility in the Chicago area, but their 3/31/2008 annual report says they closed it last year or early this year. While I was poking around in the Investor Relations section of the EA site, I did see a press release (http://investor.ea.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=340867) that says EA is opening a new studio in Austin to work on the development of additional games for Pogo. Wonder how that affects the office Jeremy works from.

Thank the Gods that stratics is free. Look If you really hate UO that much. Quit! We all know how its going. We have all seen its downard spiral since AOS. Come on people. Stratics was a place to get info..Now its just whine whine and can I have some cheese with my whine??
As for the FoF. Aye I don't like it not being posted but on the other hand. When it is posted there is crying Why wasnt my questioned answered? Why didnt you answer this etc etc...U cant win either way..
As for the new publish. IM waiting big time for it to come out. Also with Live events too. BUT we all know how UO Goes. So....

Ok, every friday i look forward to the FOF. After Jeremy stated last nite she would post on Uo Herald the info and then did not I really felt insulted and let down as a customer. It was on my mind all day to get home and read it and the FOF. Hmm, no FOF. Now if I want to hear it I must spend hours on WRR to hear it tommorrow. Problem is everytime I do listen to WRR its all choppy and I miss alot. So, when will it all be posted on UO Herald?? Monday, Tuesday,Wensday??? Because thats when ill have to wait for it.

Well if anything proves anything, this post proves how the self-proclaimed mighty UO player base has fallen to a bunch of squabbling children that makes the WoW community forums look timid. rolleyes:

You know, in thinking about this, and yes I'm frustrated at the lack of communication since, well since Ike I guess. What I see in the Uo team is lots of people busy being responsible for their portion of the game. And there isn't a thing wrong with that. What I fail to see is someone leading the UO teams toward some collective short or long term goal.
I do want more information, I do want to see progress, I do think we had time for a TOTIII prior to starting on this next wave of live events for this year.
I got spoilt I guess by the teams that did such a bang em up job of giving us stuff to do while they were working on the next thing that we were going to be doing.
Sue me, I pay. I want them to be really excited about creating something that excites me and the rest of the playerbase.

I love how some people post mutliple paragraphed and clearly put time and thought to a post that no one will read.

We might actually be playing Stygian Abyss before that happens *grins*
Right, because, you know... it would have killed Jeremy to call up one of her Mythic companions and say, "Hey, could you send me the email of... or fax me the copy of... the information that I'm supposed to put up in this week's Five on Friday?"
Let's be honest here... there's no acceptable excuse for this kind of silliness. It's basically what happens at every town hall though. "Sorry, not going to spoil the stuff we'll be talking about at the town hall tomorrow, so here's you're dose of schlock."
Except that there is information that SHOULD be going up, and it's not, and it's because we have a community manager who doesn't do the basest of jobs managing aforementioned community.
It's not like she didn't know Friday was coming up, or that she was leaving town, or that players would be expecting the mediocre dose of weekly information.
WoW's forums may look like there's a bunch of whiners on them, and maybe timid by comparison to this, but at least Blizzard provides an abundance of information about what they're doing, what they're planning on doing, and how things are going.
The same can NOT be said about UO. But no shock... WAR's communications efforts are already 1000% better than UO's. Wonder. Why.

True enough, and granted, I understand that, and I think most here do. The root of the problem is that Friday coming after Thursday, cannot be a surprise as it happens every week, or has in my lifetime

So, I and others, are sure that by Friday, the approvals and nods for the FoF has already been granted, and it's just a matter of getting it up.No matter where she is, is it so classified and confidential and earth shattering, that no one else in the whole of Mythic can get access to it? *scratches head*
And if the approvals, researching on the 2% blah blah blah as yall mentioned while covering for her, haven't been done by Friday, then it's too late anyway.
Meanwhile, for me, the burning question is, if this isn't ready by Friday, because she has worked long and hard on it all week long...WTH has she been doing as community laison?

She's clearly got internet access.
She's just not on top of things enough to say, "Hey, maybe if I called Mythic, someone might be able to provide me the info I need to put up."
Of course, I guess she's probably still down in Austin, isn't she? Which means she probably doesn't have anyone to get the info for her.

It could be that EA gives its employees one of those keyfobs that generate a token code that you must use when you remotely access the company network and Jeremy lost hers or forgot to take it to Chicago with her or it's not working correctly.
If so, she could have had someone else (e.g., Supreem or Regine, who have already posted in another thread so we do know they are around) put up the small UO Herald post for her apologizing for the lack of a FoF. However, if she needs a keyfob and token code to access the company's e-mail system, she can't e-mail them the FoF if it's on her hard drive. And if the FoF text is stored in her directory on a network drive, she can't access it without the keyfob and the token code.

Ok folks, after posting and reading this thread and many threads like them i need to make a statement. Customer relations! This is often the feelings between customers and the company they give money to. The more times that company fails the customers the less they feel like giving that company their money. Seems fairly obvious doesnt it? Im just short of 10 years playing this game and really dont post often but this type of treatment i just cant help but be mad at. As i have noticed in the past when i start to feel this way i tend to play less and at times have even shut down accounts. So why does the company continue such actions? Dont they want customers to be happy? Is it a CEO at the top that will get his money no matter what he does to the revenue of this company? or is it someone lower that the CEO really needs to have a talk with?
Eventually everyone is like a camel. Too many straws and their backs break and another customer leaves. If they really want to keep customers and get new ones maybe they should rethink how they treat them! Keep in mind that a customer with a broken back can use his word of mouth much better than the advertisement, (or lack of) EA Mythic uses!

I guess I really don't "blame" Jeremy. I do feel her boss, her bosses boss, and maybe even her bosses bosses boss all need to take a hard look at themselves. Priorities, standards, responsibility and accountability all are buzzwords coming to mind. We've been a very loyal community over the years, which should mean something. EA won't neglect Madden. Mythic could care less. Where do we fit? Neglected by both? It sounds like an organizational issue to me. At a minimum, Jeremy made a post she would get "something up" regarding the EA Japan "leak," which has not happened. FoF, ok sure, town hall and a mishap lend to a week's reprieve - fine. Don't say you'll do something, and then not do it.

Or the few that can go to the town hall and arrange time to be at dave and busters? Which would impact the most players? Because it's the last Town Hall of the year and because people make hotel and sometimes airline reservations to get to these meetings, I truly doubt there will be a last-minute cancellation of the Town Hall or that no information will be passed along.
Let's just try to take Jeremy's note at face value and at least wait until tomorrow night before assuming this weekend will go by without all of us getting our "official weekly UO news" fix.
Besides, it's Friday night (YAY!!) and here in the U.S., it looks like the weather this weekend's going to be mostly gorgeous. I know I'm looking forward to spending time with my grandsons and getting outside to crunch lots and lots of fall leaves, walk around the lake, and help the 4-year old learn how to roller skate.
Let's just try to take Jeremy's note at face value and at least wait until tomorrow night before assuming this weekend will go by without all of us getting our "official weekly UO news" fix.

It doesn't offend me.
I just know that everyone getting so upset will fall on deaf ears, so I am trying to be upbeat and get excited about hearing all the good stuff from the Town Hall.
Do I think an FOF would provide better customer relations, and reach out to more players? YES
But unfortunately they did not post an FOF, so I'm going to try to make the best of it.
