Xsharding!

Well, its been stated that duping may create more tokens than actual sales. And Im also guessing that the Xfers have been placed on hold whilst possible investigations take place.

Bah take x-sharding down for good so each shard can be unique. is what makes me play multiple shards. or keep it up so i can carry on getting richer "buy here sell there"......

"edit" on a side note.... this is a 10 year old program... do you know how different programimg is today than yesterday???? i rememer back at school making horse racing programs on BBC's for fun at lunch time... take a 11 year old today at school and give him trig (he doesnt even know what it is), take a 11 year old today and ask him to add 2 and 2 (he just about can)..... thats the difference we learned A level maths and programming back then, now there struggling to teach it to 17 year olds

Yeah, x-sharding is at the moment just an easy way to make money really, some guilds that can't PvP go to Asian shards to get scrolls, then transfer 100+ 120 scrolls back to their homeshard, and they're also used to transfer shard-unique items to other shards and sell for more money then they would be worth normally... They hurt the game more than they help in my opinion.

your the people EA want people who will spend there RL money on tokens (to make there pockets fatter) not the tokens ingame made by dupers for free....

I tend to agree. A lot of shard unique items have disappeared, and will never be returned to shard where they originated. The Magincia rubble is a good example. Ive been told that a lot of pieces disappeared off the server the very same day.

Exactly. Which is why the current speculation regarding new ingame mechanics to allow people to x-shard anytime they like seems so off base to me.

There are still people throwing money at EA, I cant see them ever turning off a source of cash.

no they never will, if we all asked for tokens to buy a shroud in our decided colour and with an "ank" or random symbol on the back they'd do it for our cash....

My guess is that they deactivated it while they get the heartwood stranger shard crashing problem straightened out. Given that crashing shards was a method of duping in the past, I am sure they want to make sure there isn't a repeat of this problem.

Well I got several tokens I actualy paid for , to xfer toons from an account I bought , to the shard I play , so if they closed xfer down I would be super pissed , not only would I be down the money I paid for the tokens , but I would be the owner of an account I would have no use for

Not to mention Xsharding has created TRILLIONS of duped gold, and hundreds of thousands of duped items..In fact im pretty sure they took it down again to fix a current dupe problem. Honestly it is the single handedly worst thing that has been implimented in uo. It killed our economies, it killed our shard uniqueness and it allows guilds to go and farm other shards for months and come back and saturate the market with their wares.

I say down with xfers.

I still say it needs to be shut down completely, thus preventing any future duping nightmares. At least, those related to the character transfer program. And if you can't get your shard-unique items off to other shards and sell them for insane amounts of money, oh well...

Never a truer word was spoken. Since its called a Character Transfer, why they ever allowed items to be moved I dont know.

Well alot of the tokens that were used in the first place and sold by brokers were obtained through stolen credit cards from asia...Ive had FOUR brokers tell me this...FOUR.

Again, worst idea ever imo.

Hehe I personally don't care if they take down xfer for good as long as they let Tomas come back home. It would suck to be stuck on another shard for good without any warning :/
