Faction Traps Exploit

Hi Jeremy,

Some guild in Formosa is using this exploit to take advantage.

This is super harrassment using game mechanics and blocking players normal gameplay. I hope this action is taken immediately.

I am ZERO guild in TB and commanding lord Yahan [TB]

I will gladly log on my character in UO to meet with any GMs for giving more evidence on this.

Please help. Thanks.

Exactly why you should take the proper avenues to report bugs. It is listed on uoherald.com. What you are in effect doing here is publishing a bug for anyone who may not know how to do it.

Hmm.. what would I do? I would go to uoherald.com and send the bug in like a normal person.

I would then get on my character with detect hidden and scout the towns if it was THAT important that I needed traps.

What would you do?

Forgot to add: This is not an exploit. It's just kinda annoying and part of the challenge of factions. Just wait until someone puts them in a place you can see but can't get to. Been there, done that and all you can do is laugh it off (or shrug it off if you can't laugh just yet) when it happens to you.

And by the way, EA gave us a fix this year for the situation when they made it possible for CL's to remove the traps, if they can find them. There isn't much they can do about infiltrators. It's up to you to shoot them, sometimes repeatedly, and risk taking murder counts if it's that big of an issue for you.

I even joined another account in other faction with 100 detect hidden, just to do this job.. but I must say, I cannot find it still. Since you're so good at it. Actually, the others are right. You shouldn't be posting exploits here, regardless of what you want done about them. At the most, you should have sent an email to Jeremy, or possibly make a post stating that you know of a faction exploit and for her to contact you regarding it. Posting it for everyone to see just makes the matter that much worse, and does nothing but spread it to every player that didn't know about it before.

Jeremy's email is jdalberg AT ea dot com. You can send her an email with the information about the exploit, and see if you can her assistance to get the traps removed. At the very least, she'll be able to take the info to the Devs so they can see if they can figure out a way to fix it and prevent it from happening in the future. Factions seem to be a focal point for them right now, so you might have timed this just right to get some quick attention.

If you are talking about someone placing all your faction traps in an out of the way location, this is not an exploit. This is a tactic and you can counter it by searching for the traps. We did this all the time when Factions began. I can even remember one of the best spots that no one thinks to look.

Reminds me of another game when I can tell an NPC that her English sucks, and the NPC sprouts a sentence in Japanese and then bluntly asks me how's my Japanese. My only reply was "Ok, point taken". Pretty hilarious when I saw it

The OP obviously is not a native English speaker but has gotten his message across clearly. That's pretty commendable.

That said, the OP has already edited his post, even though I think it's not an exploit (things that can get the exploiters banned).

In this case, posting it will likely get it more attention, but unfortunately, the OP will ultimately still need to contact the GMs for an immediate solution.

(immediate as in not needing to wait for the next patch cycle if the Devs think that this is a bug)
