Paroxy?

I've read people saying that killing Paroxysmus is one of the easiest peerless to kill, but haven't really worked one in a year or so. Me and a buddy have done really well against the Shimmering and the Grizzle, and would like to try Paroxy, but not sure the best way to do it.

How do you guys kill with two people??

I'm worried not only about Paroxy, but I remember the Putrifier as being pretty tough as well.

The way I did proxy(probably not the best) was archers and mages. Mages cast arch cure constantly and archer plucked away.

The purtrifier was to energy field him in and archer him to death with night reapers.

Other than these is the bagdagedaddy way with a single sampire. Amazing really!

I agree, mostly, with 5%, except for paroxy himself you dont really need the mage. Balanced bows (fairy fire works fine as paroxy's lowest resists is fire) cure pots, and cross heals work far faster and better than relying on a mage to cure.

The way I (used to) do it, is sampire on a armored swamp dragon, hard hitting, reasonably fast weapon with mana and stamina leech, enemy of one, consecrate wep if needed, spam lightning strike, and heal every four seconds with bandages. Was insanely easy to solo him that way, after figuring it out the first couple times. Was getting my butt kicked for a while.

How can archers cross-heal each other? That would be some feat of coordination without first getting the mob 'stuck' on something and unable to move, which is an exploit I believe.

Just curious, not sarcastic or anything! :)

thats how we always did it with the guild. Credit to UOCD of Legends for teaching me how to do it that way.

Parox isnt "stuck" perse. He more just has to walk around the rocks to get to the mages. and where he moves so slow, its incredibly easy to get ur mages to invis in time.

Happy hunting

::edit::

Missed the part about you wanted to do it with two people. We always did it with vamp form dexxers or "sampires". Doing the putrefier is easy with a Sampire and a disco mage. just have the dexxer drag him out of his area to a cleared spot.

sadly, that method will no longer work after pub 56.

The method posted above should be doable with two mages and two dexxers.

On siege being all Fel, you can use his little alter thing to block him on the top with a stealther.. Then One Archer / One Necro mage can kill him easy as hell.

I wouldn't recommend that method... According to the UO Knowledge Base on the support site:

It is not legal to block NPC's or monsters with objects. The deliberate blocking of monsters or NPC’s with objects such as boats, crates, house tiles, invisible pets or invisible players with the intent to gain an unfair advantage, like skill gain or monster killing is considered an exploit and can result in account penalties.

For the Putrefier we always do it by just putting energy fields. No need to use objects, it just requires a good timing.

Good thing ive only done 1 Proxy in my life.. about a year and a half ago.. Lady M is where its at..

Btw does this still apply to mosters who teleport you to them? Aka Proxy? who pulls targets onto himself?

The way Blesh shows ... you just have to be up-close and personal. Being an archer just means ideal damage in an easily acquired "artie" and no need for a shield (chugging pots). Also, last time I was in there, Paroxy did just kinda stand still by the stairs ... dunno why ... he sucked us in and we would run right back out.

It can be done that way with 2 dexers, too, but you would probably want 2 Bush/Dexers who are not using shields. We also did it with a LJ Swords (no bush/no parry) and a Fencer (parry/no bush) - PvP chars, actually, and both were red - but there was more death involved because of 1 - the shield (interferes with pots) and 2 - no confidence for emergency situations.

Skwiz - not sure about your question, but I have gotten 2 crimmies off Paroxy, no luck at all. Mel is definitely NOT where its at, unless you are collecting hair dye.

I have killed it (with my friends) in 3 mages, is very funny, but you need to lern very well the tactics, 50k hp is a huge amount and you have only 2 hours, so dont waste time :)

Killing the Putrifier I use either a prov/discord bard and provoke balrons on it and ev it. Or a necro mage with a slayer book, in wriath form and just energy bolt it to death from the other side of the rock where it spawns. If you stick two summons on it then it will cast on them while ya pound away.

That thing Blesh posted looks about right.

Ideally I'd think with two people you would have one sampire dexxer and one discord mage. The mage stands behind the dexxer and just arch cures when necessary.

Being ranged makes it teleport you to him, which is why archers with hit spell weapons die like theres no tomorrow in there.

Oh you definitely should, I've pretty much always done it this way. (at least when actually trying to get keys for my sampire to solo parox - well over 100 times)...

Theres 2 balrons down there, I wouldn't bother with the succubi. It usually takes 2 balrons and ev's, though it depends if it's parragon or br infected. If you do it in fel you can xheal the balron(s). Usually I just provoke smaller stuff on it to keep the balron alive longer.
