I heard that the best way to make money in game is to be a rare looter. I am not new to the game but i am just returning from about a 4 year break and not sure what is the best way to go. Any constructive help is welcomed. Thanks

As has already been mention, this is not the correct forum for this inforamtion. Try over on the Rare Collector's, or Treasure Hunter's forums.

Good luck...la

Stay..stay here and listen to us..

The best way to make money is Powerscroll thieving. Trust me on this.

I had a trammel mage for about 3 years. I made more money on my Powerscroll thief than I ever made on my mage after 3 MONTHS.

Give it a try. Join the thief guild after you reach 60 stealing. Train Hiding, Stealth and Snoop.
Train Ninja up to a reliable Llama form. Start scouting out the spawns in Felucca.

You'll never regret it.
Ask if you have any questions. Semi-rare looter is not the way to go.

Trust me.

I agree with Arch. Just as a player thief in general I have gotten more stuff than any of my other characters.

I am sorry to those that did not understand what i was saying. Where i come from the best way to learn something is to go straight to the people that use those skills everyday. I have decided to follow some advice and go as a thief but still am not sure on how to increase my skills to use on those people that will literally rip me appart in combat. I didn't know if there was a special place to go that helps with stealing or if it is just a bust. I tried an old trick with a pack horse but that failed and have since gotten snooping, hiding, and snooping all over 60 w/o items. If you have some supportive advice or maybe a good guide please let me know.

Honestly Most folks I know myself included use the pack horse bit.

Not sure how your doing it but I use Empty Potion Bottles. If say your skill was 60 you'd put stacks of 7 bottles on the horse which would be 7 stones. This is a bit heavy for your skill but it seems to give better gains that way. I've also heard about loading a pack up to max weight with things insuring them and stealing out of the book shelves in the Doom Healer room.

Packies are the best way to train, now you can even train completely in your home. Once you get into the low 80's things will slow down, same once you hit 100...if you are on a production shard, you should be able to find an alcrity scroll, those will help speed up gains too.

Siege...the big thing is to get to 70...from their it's just a matter of getting to a stable every 5-15 minutes to get your gains...la

I hate to bring back a dead thread, but after reading this I have a question.

Training in your home, can I train in tram, or do I have to be in fel for it to work?

last I trained a thief was looooong ago. I'm just now starting another on SP.

But it USED to be.

that you would get a packhorse bonded to you. Tell it to guard you ( in Fel ), put items from bottles to dye tubs (weight based on skill) on the packie and steal them back one by one.
also, if i remember correctly, once you failed on an item... you would not get another gain on that item till you gained on a different one. So the more tubs the better.

not sure if all this is still in place.. but that's the plan of attack Im going to use as soon as my packie bonds to me.

Yeah, that's the method I used last time I trained a few months ago. It still works, but Rico mentioned you could train in your home. Which would be nice, I guess my question would be does training still have to be done strictly in fel? Or will the packy method work in tram too?

[Edit]
Only works in fel.
