Does this template seem ok?

After seeing a few threads here, and having some stuff pointed out as to the advantages of Bushido by GFY, I decided to try a bushido macer as my new character.

My goal is:
Macing 120
Bushido 110
Tactics 100
Anatomy 100
Chivalry 80
Healing 90
Parrying 110

(I do get 710 as my 2nd year skill cap don't I? =P)

And with equipment, I get
Strength/Hp 97/101
Dex/Stam 125/130
Int/Mana 38/44

All resist are 70, except physical, which is 68 with protection on, I have 23 HCI, 65 DI and 43 DCI (without weapon)

Using wind's edge a lot at the moment, and am *hoping* to find a nice warhammer so I can use whirlwind special, cos I like that one =P

I'm having a lot of fun with her so far, most skills right around 80 at the moment, but they seem to be moving up ok too =) I know if I got a crimmy and a jackal's I could use the extra dex, but for now I can't afford them at all =P Does that all seem like I'm on the right track?

First time I've tried out bushido, I didn't really get what it can do for you at all til I started reading here a bit more, still don't know more than half of it I'm sure ;)

Thanks for any advice!

That is an excellent template and some nice items to boot.

When I started my second samurai, my template was similar to that, including the use of wind's edge. It wasn't until I found a great diamond mace that I let wind's edge out of my hands long enough to try another weapon.

The warhammer will certainly be a challenge to find unless you have a smith and some runic hammers. It took me many months before I found one on a peerless (probably Travesty, but I can't remember), and I rarely see any good warhammers for sale.

If you could find a way to increase bushido and/or parry to 120, you wouldn't regret it. But I can't see a good way to do that without sacrificing something else you might want, like chivalry or the ability to deal more damage (tactics and/or anatomy). Of course, if you found the right skill gain items, that could solve the problem.

My current template is:
Swords or mace (soul stone swapped) 115
Parry 115
Bushido 115
Tactics 100
Anatomy 100
Chivalry 75
Healing 100

And until I start PvP (which I won't, I don't have the connection for melee PvP), this template does wonderfully without the monetary drain of needing 120 power scrolls.

I would change your Healing to 100 and Anatomy to 90 so you'll have a 100% chance to cure level 6 poison. I would also drop Chiv to 70 and put the extra 10 points into Bushido.

Thanks both very much =)

I should've mentioned will be using bandages from the fountain of life (that gives me an "extra" 10 healing if I recall correctly?)

Can't afford a 120 bushido scroll, but I can look around for a 115, and drop 5 out of chivalry into Bushido?

I can look around for jewellery that gives me some +skill too (I was going to try dread pirate hat for the +10 macing, but not sure if I will or not, at the moment I have samurai helmet for the DCI) I'm using fey leggings and Rune beetle carapace too, then runic made leather for the most part =)

enhanced bandages give you the same healing as 10 pts higher, but not the chance to succeed in healing or curing poison.. you need those 10 pts in real skill.

if your at 120 and use the enhanced bandages you heal as if you had 130..
its usually 4 to 5 pts extra dmg healed in my testing..

its good to have 100 healing, but since you have chiv and run with protection on you can cure with chiv.

you can always give it a try and see what works best..
it takes alot longer to raise anatomy tho then chiv.. :)

Congratulations on entering the world of the samouri. I'm glad your having fun and it looks like your off to a great start.

If your feeling brave and when you get your hands on 120 bushido and parry scrolls try your template without healing. You can make up for this with a nice mana and life leech weapon and a couple of good heal and cure macros for chivalry spells.

You could then drop the extra points into necro and if you can add a few items to get your nerco to 99 you could try Vampiric embrace or, if not, wraith form for the mana or life leech these 2 forms provide.

A good Samouri in wraith form with a mace weapon can actually fight very high level mobs, including peerless solo and drain away all their mana and stamina leaving then unable to cast, (no mana) or hit you very often (no stamina)

Very low hit points, u should do something about it. Find at least Fey leggins +6 hp +20 dci.

Once you reach 720 skill points, you can try to do:
120 Mace, 120 Parry, 120 Bushido, 100 Tactic, 100 Heal, 90 Anat, 70 Chiv

I would suggest 115 Parry, 115 Bushido while you are at 710 skills points.

Like the previous poster mentioned, you need a higher hp. Try using Mace&Shield Glasses / Spirit of Totem + Fey Leggings to boost HP. You can also use purple petal and greater strenght potion to boost your strenght and HP before a major fight.

I like macing, I think its one of the better melee skill for sammy, especially the diamond mace. And since its one-handed, it allows you to chug potions. Try to find one with HML, SSI 25-30, DI 40 + HLL/HSL.

Ok as of yet on my warrior all i do is pvm. I took the chance and dropped gm parry to see if there was a big diffrence, and guess what ? I couldnt see one. Is parry really that necessary?

This is a matter of debate atm. Some friends and I aren't entirely convinced that Parry isn't bugged as far as monsters go.
