FOF Question - Commodity Deeds

Are there any plans to expand what can be converted into a commodity deed? Until the new commodity deed box came out, I had not realized that many stackable items cannot be turned into a commodity deed. Blank scrolls, daemon bones, and empty bottles are the main ones that I have encountered, but I am sure there are many others. Props are definitely in order for the commodity deed box. It has made a recent move go so much more quickly and I did not need to leave my regular wood behind. Thanks for that addition to the game.

Ideally, anything that can be stacked should be deedable. However I have no idea what the code looks like behind the scenes ... feels like it should be simplier to just check "is stackable?" rather than having a list of special cases, but these things seem to have a habit of turning out to be more complex than they have any right to be.

All 'new' resources are not deedable:
rare gems, bark fragments, parasitic plants etc
While its ahrdly worth to mutter about most of them, it is a pain with bark fragments. (Most others are simply too rare to care about beeing deedable.)

That means there's either a tag on the items that can stack saying they can be put in deeds, or that there is a list of valid items on the code for the deeds themselves. Either way adding them to be able to combine into commodity deeds shouldn't be a huge effort.

The Commodity Deed boxes are a great advance in game for those of us who craft at our homes.

I'd love to see more items deedable. Bottles, Blank Scrolls are just a few.

Gems would be nice, but only from a vendor stand point indealing with weight issues in a container.

the old K.I.S.S. concept comes to mind..

All Stackables should be Deedable.

Though technically, all items are stackable, most just have a stack size limit of 1. It would be easier to just use the same check for stack sizes to determine ComDeed usability than to manual punch in each item a deed can hold.

It would actually Remove excess code and make it easier to manage if they simply had the stack size limit of 60,000 = deedable.

Yeah. I agree as well. Anything that can be stacked should be deedable.

This is my feeling too.

The most noticeable omissions in the 'deedable' items in my opinion are bottles, blank scrolls and bolts of cloth.

Bolts of cloth are currently deedable.

I imagine the code for UO like the back of my entertainment center. At first when it was all new and just set up everything was straight, neat, and easy to find. But as the years went on, and new components were added, and others removed the wires began to get all tangled and messed up. Now you can't go back there and just yank out a single cable without the whole mess falling over and crashing. So you have to be very careful, and follow that one cable though everything it's tangled up in, until you finally find where it goes and you can free just the one you want.

I should have become a poet. *wipes away a single tear*

If you set up Entertainment Centers for a living, instead of adding and removing pieces at your home on a whim or whenever you have time (as I do)... then you better do a better job of documenting your work and "Dressing your cables" than a rookie would... don't you think?

The analogy works but if the code is that bad... you have to wonder WHY?

I'm an optician. I don't set up entertainment centers for a living. If you took one look at the back of mine at home you'd know why I chose a different field of work.

But honestly, when I think of what UO's code must look like, I think of the back of my entertainment center.

Sounds like a lot of good ideas which shouldn't change any balance of game play.

And yes, stealable deeds would make it interesting... at least in fel/Siege.

As a software developer it's astonishing to me that code eleven years old that has had monthly updates by a changing development team that has physically relocated twice works at all. With all that it does now that wasn't originally planned, it probably should be re-written from scratch.
