Sweet! I just saved hundreds of items of space by switching to publish 56 - and it only took me 15 minutes or less...

Well, ummm, ok, I will save hundreds of items of space by consolidating all that rock I have stored up...and, ok, it took a lot longer than 15 minutes - but you get the picture!

Hooray for new stackables!

On the dough, can the non exceptionals stack seperately from the exceptionals? I have yet to get an exceptional cake without exceptional dough. :) Or cookies. Other than that, that would be great, due to the annoyance of having a my pack filled with dough, when I just want to make cakes or cookies for rp.

Though, no stacking seeds? :sad4:

Do the Dev even know what frigging game they are working on? There are 0 items in game that add to spellweaving. That's just embarrassing.

No one ever asked for dough to stack. When working cooking, you use dough because it doesn't stack! That means you don't have to drag one off the pile to cook 1 at a time for best gains.

Jesus, its no wonder people are quitting in droves.
Uhm, I asked for dough to stack and think other chefs did too.

Faction Consumables: In addition to the new artifacts, a number of new consumables will be available for purchase with silver. Anyone in the faction will be able to use the items (they are freely tradable) but there will be a cooldown on many of the items, based on rank. Examples of the consumables include:
Stronghold Rune: One-use item that will teleport you to your faction HQ (standard criminal flagging rules apply)
Shrine Gem: One-use item that can be used to teleport your ghost to the nearest shrine
Powder of Perseverance: A variant of Powder of Fortification that can be used on the new faction items.
Enhanced bandages that also remove curses
Two new types of potions

Two new types of potions?
Ok, now you have my interest. I hope these aren't going to hit my alchemist where it hurts.
I guess I'll have to go test these as soon as I can.
Will they eventually be craftable from rare ingredients by alchemists maybe?*pleads*

I didn't have a version of the question handy, but this has come up a number of times. Currently, if you use skill jewelry to increase your skill, cast a form-changing spell (such as Necromancy's Vampiric Embrace) then remove the skill jewelry, you remain in that form.

This will be changing in Publish 56. What will happen is if you lower your skill past the threshhold to be able to cast that particular form-changing spell, (whether by removing items, using a soulstone, or even using the Test Center set skill command) you will revert to your normal form. This will affect not only the various forms available with Necromancy but Magery (Polymorph,) Ninjitsu (Animal Form,) and Spellweaving (Reaper Form.)
Some players are aware of possible issues if these designs are implemented:

How does it work,
1) when a player casts a magery spell with a scroll? Will he/she be reverted to his/her original form soon after he/she casts?

2) when a player goes over a server line or logs in? Jewelries are removed when a player goes over a server line or logs in.

3) when a player are affected by discordance of monsters?

I would point out that such a thing would require a publish and we are between publishes at the moment. There is still hope.
That's true. Considering the debacle that was the 10th anniversary and last Christmas, I don't really care about a gift. What is more disturbing to me is the lack of acknowledgment by anyone other than Jeremy (who barely said anything) that there even was an anniversary.

I was incredibly busy yesterday and didn't want to bother with the phone. I still rang my parents to wish them a happy 38th wedding anniversary which resulted in a pleasant hour long call. The devs can't take 3 mins to post a message on a BB about something less important than a family event? Just sayin'.

They should bump up the minimum casting requirement of Wraith form to 50 so it will stop that loophole as well. Right now it won't be affected as long as you are a human.
:scholar: Why whine about the fact that humans can go wraith form without any skill? Its been like this for long time now.. Humans and Elves are not equal in specialties as u know, humans get 20 base skill, whats the point if they cant use 20 base skill for anything?

So......it took less than 2 days for the pancakeing about wraith form to start....

Too bad it won't change anything.

LOL @ successfully casting wraith form with Jack of all Trades
Too much talk and not enough real information

I have trouble casting wraith form at 40 much less 20

Especially since in Fel the Ward Removal talismans can and do work. It takes longer for someone to cast Wraith form with JOAT than it does to recharge a talisman.

Couple of notes:

- For the cooking stuff, I just confirmed with QA - all the recipes affected by the change will still only use 1 set of ingredients per attempt, regardless of whether or not the items are stacked. This does not affect ribs or fish steaks (and you're welcome to let me know whether or not you'd like them changed!)

- For vamp form - Athos, those are excellent questions and I've forwarded them to QA to make sure we have answers by the time it goes up on TC

- As for the "Party On" title, I'm sorry to mislead you - as I think I mentioned, last week all of the remote people were in the office and it was very much a party atmosphere :) We don't have an in-game celebration planned for the 11th anniversary, although you may see anniversary-themed stuff a little later this year.

To Jeremy,

With all due respect...

Why was there not an ingame celebration or anything planned for the 11th?

Working on 56 or War is not an acceptable answer.

Most of you were here for the tenth and saw how ignoring that till you got darn good and really bothered players. Yet you all easily did it again. Worse this time.

Is the UO team not allowed to by EA?

I just do not get how team people say "oh ya we are for UO" and act like this.

Credibility is gone, but maybe that's exactly what you all wanted. O' wells eh! :)

Party On! I do wish all of you well.

I wonder if we are going to get 11th anniversery stuff like we did with the
9th anniversery and get it through trick or treating. I still have the wine, pizza and milk from it not sure if there was anything else you could get.

well, some ideas for those who think the bushido/necro warrior is done ...

1. Switch from vamp form to wraith form. Instead of leaching life you leech mana, which u can turn into life. So you can permanently lightning-strike your opponent and cast curse weapon (it will only last one second, but nice timing will give the leech you need)
2. Stay with vamp form. Adjust your skills: Mostly, you are on 35 necro (if you don't use a soulstone to free them). Take jewels with + 25 necro (may be 30, but I give 5 less skill for better jewels) and other mods. I myself had eg a + 15 necro brace with 12 dci + fc1 + di 20 and other stuff that might fit. Take the necro talisman. So you are on 65 necro; you need only another 34 skill points to turn into necro skill. You can also try and get midnight bracers to work in your suit, what will reduce the skill shift for another 20 skill points.

I don't see many problems adjusting the template to be usefull again.

120 macing
120 bush
120 parry
120 tact
120 anat
70 chiv
50 necro

+20 bracers, +5 totem, +13/+12 ring or brace combo. Best part is that I am sure anyone can find the +skill jewels for not just necro but for macing/bush/parry.... so lets say u get a +10 necro and +3 macing combo on a ring or brace....

This is just to keep Vamp Sammies going :)

Has anyone else been pondering the purpose of this change that's supposed to be part of Publish 56:

Young players will now be attacked in Ilshenar dungeons (they will also get the warning gump as they enter, so they're not taken by surprise.)
Why make this change for the Ilshenar dungeons only?

J

Jeremy

Tina, because they are already attacked in all the other dungeons - the Ilsh dungeons were an exception.

Wow, silly me. I never realized that. I ran a young character I still had left on an account all the way to Despise and saw the message about monsters attacking you on sight in the dungeons. Don't remember ever seeing that before.

I was secretly hoping this change meant you were going to do more stuff in Ilshenar. Darn.
