1. New Trees Are Hard To Place Where You Want Them!
They are damn near impossible to place near a south wall in your home because of the positioning of where you grab them in the cursor. The bottom base of the plants should be at the fingertip, not the middle of the tree!

2. New Plants Are Unable To Be Tended To When Locked Down In Your Home After They Bloom.
This is not an issue with other plants (as far as I know), I know most have suggested growing them in a pack or beetle or releasing them and then watering them and locking them back, but I would like to be able to access them in my home to tend to them where they are locked down. Even when I release and put them back some trees are hard to reposition in the same place and my nursery becomes a disorganized mess!

Anyone else having these same issues?
:sad4:
All I'm getting at is we need to strike these bugs while the irons hot, while the team members this are still around, not trying to sound grim, but you never know what will happen between today and tomorrow.

Ok with your first drama, put plant in a crate, put the crate where you want the plant axe the crate. voila

Yep, everyone is aware of the 2nd issue it was discussed in another thread somewhere ill see if i can find it for you. basically just stick the plants in bag of a char you dont used alot.

both are a pain in the butt but are easily fixed

ok heres some links, hope they help :D

On placing the trees, target the square two west of where you want the tree to land. The only problem is trying to place the tree along the west wall, since you can't target past that point.

You can also use your trash barrel as an alternative to what Katlene said - saves a bit on boards for crates ;) Stand where you want tree placed, say I wish to place a trash barrel, put tree in barrel, axe barrel, lock down tree =)

Even though most if not all of the gardeners are aware of the second issue, it would be nice to for a DEV to acknowledge it.

Everyone gave good advice for the 1st issue. It isnt something they can fix, because the new trees (as well as the Cleanup Reward trees and rubble trees of Ohii size and larger) are actually 2 tiles high. The client knows this and acts accordingly. It is frustrating, yes, but not something that can really be avoided.

I've had pretty good success using the circle of transparency to place along the west wall .. and in some other kinda tight areas. It's worth a shot

Ok these aren't my "dramas" alone, I didn't create them, I'm just bringing attention to them. Although I appreciate the work-arounds, I would like to see the bugs fixed properly. Trust me i know about the option to put them in a box and break it, and technicaly I believe that would be an exploit, your using the crate or trash barrel in a way that was not intended to trick the mechanics of the game into dropping a tree where it currently can't be placed normally, although I would be surprised to anyone get in trouble for doing it. My main point is, these bugs need to be fixed, until then, yes people will work around the problems.

I would sure like to hear that someone is even looking into this, (and yes I submitted it to the feedback section on the herald) but please don't tell me "Just put them on a character you don't use." thats not a solution, I use all my characters and I shouldn't have to create a character specifically to grow plants.

anyways...

I'm not growing as many plants as I would if I could tend to them locked down. It's just to much trouble having them in my backpack. A few growing in your backpack is ok but when you have 30 it is just annoying lol.

I don't think the tree placement is a bug, the trees can't get placed "manually" because they are bigger than one tile - essentially you are trying to place them over two tiles, one of which isn't usually a "placeable" tile - if they were to FIX this, we wouldn't be able to use our "workarounds" at all - and I for one would hate that =P

If they "fix" it right, you wouldn't need workarounds. Do you have word from higher up that this is exactly how multi-tile items work, or are you on the dev team?

I guess we won't know for sure what is possible and what isn't until someone that officially works on the game tells us... right?

In fact, YES, when the reward trees (Yucca and Bamboo) came out, this was brought up, and that WAS the official word from the team - that they are multi-tile objects, and as such, are subject to difficulty in placing. Done being a jerk about it by assuming we are all talking out of our asses?

Question do you think if there grown at the top floor it would be able to grow locked down?

Yes, they can be locked down against a wall ... occasionally you can even get lucky and place them there with no work-around. They are strange multi-tile objects in that the upper tile is "passable" and the bottom tile is "impassable". Kind of like stacking a bench on top of a bagball.

Growing them in-place would work well ... if you knew for sure you were getting a tree!
