Hello,

I am at the point where I can only go further (such as tank better) if I go for THE set of gear which you should stick with for a long time (So far I've only been using what people give me for free, or things that are drooped on the ground near the bank, it's tearful I know).

I heard that, Heart of the Lion is one to aim for, but what other pieces are there that are named?

Lets see.

If you are a casting template (bushido, chiv) then Rune beetle Carapace is the way to go. The amount of LMC and regen you get on that piece alone will allow you to triple your casting amount. Heart of the Lion is not bad for starters though.

If you are tanking, you definately want to max out DCI, or get as close as you can. The
Fey Leggings are an excellent choice with their 20 DCI and 6 HP increase to boot.

I'm assuming by your recent posts that money might be a problem. If not, find yourself a pair of Mace and Shield glasses. A dexxer's best bet. =D

As for gloves, many people choose the Stormgrips. Hard to beat 25% damage inc. and 8 int. on a pair of gloves. Otherwise, look for runic gloves that will buff up your resists. Gauntlets of Nobility are ok, but I don't think they are medable which can be a problem with many templates.

Fill in the remaining pieces with runic crafted gear.
Try to find pieces with high resists in the right areas and Stamina increase.
The extra stamina you can stack will work wonders in your Swing Speed.
If you are a caster (bush, chiv) try to throw in some LMC and Mana regen in there too.

Good luck. I'll be here if you have any questions. =D

Rings of the Vile are also getting fairly cheap.
Great ring to use.

15 HCI
8 Dex
6 Stamina regen
20% poison resist

*Hehe, I also forgot about some nice gorgets!

Voice of the Fallen King-great dexxer medable piece

Jackal's collar - non-medable gorget with great fire and cold resist with
a huge Dex boost +15

Thanks for the info.

I had a look at all of the named stuff you mentioned, I have worked up a list:

Possible:
Heart of the Lion (chest)
Fey Leggings (leg)
Stormgrips (gloves)
Rune beetle Carapace (chest, option)

Dream of:

Mace and Shield glasses (glasses, very expensive)
Rings of the Vile (ring, very expensive, Doom)
Voice of the Fallen King (Collar, very expensive, Doom, option)
Jackal's collar (Collar, very expensive, Doom, option)
Gauntlets of Nobility (Gloves, very expensive, Doom, option)

To be honest I don't see myself able to buy any Doom stuff this month, HoTl can be brought for about 200k, which is a possible thing to do in a week for a few days, Fey Leggins and Stormgrips, though I never seen them sold, but I by looking at their status, I guess they are cheaper then all of the items at Dream of section.

I wonder what are the average price for the Fey Leggins and Stormgrips, please let me know if you do.

Stormgrips can run from 2-2.5mil. I would opt for a nice pair of resist gloves with Stamina.
If you wait long enough they may turn on Treasures of Tokuno and you could get your own pair.

If you are an Elf, you could probably find someone to give you a pair of Fey Leggins. Otherwise they are about 100-200k.
Humans, on the other hand, need a special Non-elf pair that can only be gotten from Peerless corpses. Those run about 1mil or more. =D

Just a little price check for u, though may vary from shard to shard.
fey leggins for elf 40-50k, for human 300-700 (i myself bought for 500).
lions heart 100k
carapace and stormgrips 1.8-2m each
Gauntlets of Nobility 1.5m (i think they are medable)
Rings of the Vile 1.2m
Voice of the Fallen King 300k
Jackal's collar 3-4m
Mace and Shield glasses 7.5-8m

Much better pricing, thanks.

I would definately save up for the Carapace as early as possible.
It's one of my favorite armor pieces.

Next would be the Vile ring. Love it.

Thanks for the price list mate, its very helpful, even though on my server, it's quite a way off, but I can work out a ratio.

Stormgrips, are 7.8 mils in average on my server, while Heart of Lion is 200k.

So it seems below 1 mil, everything is 2x, while above that, it x it self more in price.

I guess it means you are at a much bigger server, thus things are more common like this.

Another slightly OT question is, I earn 10k in slaying ettins and earth eles per 30/40 mins or so, is that the normal rate of money earning? cos 200k takes a long time:)

Really depends on your template, but sure you can earn x3 on any template. For example you can go to tokuno isamu and kill ninjas there, easy money. Run from hiruyas though, they are hard to tank due to lower defence attacks.

Hey i just remembered 1 item you can easily get. That is Ancient samurai helm. 15 dci and good resists and blessed =) Although they come from heritage tokens, on my shard 450k, they are sold everywhere on vendors for 250k and lower, i got 1 for 119k from some vendor.

Here's my 2 cents worth.

Make up a decent suit that you can hunt in. Do some peerless, Swoops, and Maisma. These 3 will get you some decent stuff to sell or trade. (Totem of the Void, Fey Leggings, And possibably Soul Seeker if I remember right). You could also try Doom to get a few arties and sell what you can't use and keep what you can.

I don't see anything wrong with it. You don't have a bunch of useful mods but it should be fine for pvm. I would get some powder of fortification and boost the durability of all those pieces.

If your playing a warrior or an archer I would go for;

Rune Beetle Carapise - chest piece w/ good mana mods
Mace & Shield glasses - headgear with good mods and good resist
Jackal's Collar - Neck piece with good mods
Ring of the Vile - Ring with 15 HCI and 15 Dex.
Stormgrips - My favorite gloves for any warrior
Crimson Cincture - An apron with extra stats
Totem of the Void - a talisman with LMC and extra stats

Use any remaining pieces of armor or jewelry for 45 DCI, 45 HCI, 40 LMC, 60 + on all resist.

This would give you a well balanced template for just about anything.

But always keep you eyes open for armor pieces. You can always find something a little better or with just the right extra mod.
