Wedding Content?

In the first version of the publish notes for either pub 52 or 53 there was mention of new wedding content. It included wedding rings and licenses. Unfortunately, these things were never put into the publish and they were taken out of the notes. I emailed Jeremy asking if this was ever going to be added but I think she was on vacation at the time so I never got a reply.

Recently, I was told they talked about wedding content at the last town hall. Does anyone know when we’re getting it or have any info about it? My bf and I have been waiting to get married since I saw the mention in the publish notes. (Really I asked about UO weddings almost a year ago in-game but was told no one did them anymore.) We had some friends get married recently in-game, now he keeps asking when we’re going to do it and I keep putting it off until we get real wedding stuff. It makes me feel like a guy having cold feet! :hahaha:

Wedding and interations?

They can just update the graphics to The Sims Online and we can get the 50 people that played that game to come to UO! We can have larger 2D avatars and fill the whole screen.

I cant wait!

*wonders how many proposals Airmid would receive*

The only reason I could see getting married in UO is for something cool. Like the old wedding bands and certificates, unless youre an Rp'er of course.

I get the RP thing. I'm an ex counselor and performed a few weddings, but I still get an "icky" feeling when ppl refer to ingame boy/girlfriends...

Oh I get an icky feeling too, but there are no end of things that give me that feeling so I've just thrown up my hands and said "to each their own" :)

I'd marry my real life husband in game. Of course, it would have to be a lesbian wedding since all of his best characters are female and I'm not marrying off my favorite character to one of his scrubs.

The game already has garlands and inscribeable cakes, but bouquets would be a nice addition.

Why not, hey, I dunno..

Get married for real.
Hey, I dunno.. Maybe because I’m disabled and he’s got at least another year left of school, more if he decides to specialize. I’m sorry that we’re not stupid enough to get married now, when we are in no position to support ourselves financially, just to make people like you happy. We’ll get married when we can, until then we would like to do it in UO. Now, please go troll somewhere else. Thanks. :loser:

I’m sure you can tell from my last post , yes we are together IRL. He played UO back when it first came out and decided to start again about a year and ½ ago, then got me into it. He lives about 20 mins away so we enjoy having stuff we can do together when we can’t really be together.

Yeah, I have a problem with the in-game dating too. I don’t mind RPers but I’ve seen some pretty sad hookup attempts in there. Also, a lot of people using the game to try to find someone IRL. If you’re looking for a date, try a dating site, not a game. If you’re playing the game to play the game and happen to find someone then good for you. Just don’t make that the whole point of playing the game. That being said, I feel the need to tell you that I did meet my bf while playing poker online. :blushing: Neither one of us was there to find someone though. As I said in my last post, I’m disabled and finding a guy was the last thing on my mind. I had a regular poker night and a group of people I always played with. He just ended up at our table one night and we hit it off so we started IMing. Even thought he lived only 10 mins down the road we still talked online for 6 months before finally meeting and we were friends for 2 yrs before we started dating.

There's no reason to attack those who roleplay couples in game but aren't couples in real life. What harm do they do to anyone else? Those who meet in game and go on to become couples in real life are fantastic publicity for the game. On LS, Tess and Flint Fireforge got married in game, and the players got married in real life as well. A small article about them appeared in People magazine. I can't find the People article, but here's an EA page about them:

My wife and I play and it would be neat to have rings like the old days that had inscription, so when this comes about in game, we will be in line at the UO Justice of the Peace.
