11th years vet reward a house boat

The ocean is so vast that i was thinking of a new vet reward for players with 11 year old accounts or older house boats.

• Maybe they can even be customizable in different colors, sizes, shapes and designs with a limited amount of lock downs and storage maybe as much storage as a 18x18 or a keep or maybe even a castles storage with multiple decks and hulls just a thought.

• This should be a reward so we shouldn't have to get rid of our house on the same account meaning we can own both a house boat and a house on the same shard and account if we want.

Only players with 11 year accounts or older with the key should be able to control them but if we friend or co-own someone or grant access to someone they can access the ship as long as they have a copy of our key unless the house boat is open to the public then anyone can enter it. if we ever remove there access they should lose the key or use of it automatically

• I do not believe it would be good to allow vendors on them so perhaps all house boats can be private so no unwanted guest can come a board. being a private house boat or a open to the public house boat should be optional like it is with houses.

I have years before any of my accounts turn 11 but i really think this would be great what about you?

This is an interesting idea, but the sizes and designs should probably be pre-designed. There are way too many Borg Cubes on land, we don't need them floating in the sea as well.

i understand but it does not have to be costumizeable.

I think that would be an awesome idea : customizable boats and all, but maybe it should be part of a future (lol) Pirate expansion???

Also, there's so much to be done with the seas : new monsters etc and, maybe, a sort of fantastic place deep into the oceans with Sirens, a King of the ocean, palaces, jewels, quests, and so on??? (see Andersen for details lol)

I am no where near 11 yet I would so like to be ship traveling and come across players sitting on their houseboats with their feets in the water and fishing! I would! GL with this!

A houseboat would be cool. It's been asked for many times over the years.

Rumors have it that sheer mention of houseboats to devs and engineers on the UO team has been known to cause seizures... houseboats would be that difficult to develop under the current coding.

I would love to see a 3-masted ethereal ghost ship that doesn't block or decay.

I like the houseboat idea. However make it available for everyone. I'm sick of vets getting all the good stuff. Since they don't and never have advertised uo. Alot of people didn't get the chance to start from uo's beginning. If I had known about uo when it started I would have started then. But I didn't until I saw a T2A box in the store. Lost 2 years there with that.

Great idea indeed.. but ive been asking for a larger boat since T2A.

Some further brainstorming:

Larger boats can only sail in deep water, for fear of running aground.

A top deck, and a hold below.. making two levels.

The ability to have and place houses on stilts (in shallow water only) Similar to the swamp city designs.. and have your boat parked right outside.. maybe customly design a pier that goes out into the water, so you can dock too.

Maybe one large boat per account.. i dont want to see a repeat of when the fishing patch went live years ago.. had to walk half-way to Trinsic (from Brit) to find room to place a boat.

Different wood types of boats? (wood, oak, and yew) I really dont want green, red or blue boats..

Dyable sails/masts?

Definately lockdowns on the boat. As far as secures, maybe just one or two..

And definately 10+ year accounts ONLY.

And cmon already.. make NPC boats that roam the oceans with either sailors or pirates/brigands.. Similar loot to the gypsy camps? or maybe a lvl1 chest?

OR! add a few "uncharted" islands.. this isnt like reallife.. we CAN add landmass to the 75% ocean.. and while were kinda on the subject of pirates, REMOVE TELEPORTERS TO BUCS DEN. It was, and should be an exotic, sailing-only place to get to, as was intended.
