Can you believe it?

Yesterday I made GM parry with another warrior character of mine in one day, today I started a new warrior, and my character would not raise parry one bit.

Since he brought the skills from a weapon training person for about 300 gold, he just would not raise his parry skill.

I have tried farm animals gang bang (to me), being smack by a fellow player, all of these methods for half a day, still it does not raise it bit.

Yes, the skill is at arrow up, I am a Bushido user, and have tired both shield and 1H weapon, 2H weapon and such, still, the skill would not raise one bit.

I am not sure how it all connects, but my Fencing is only at 55, Bushido 66, and parry at 32.7.

If anyone has any insight on this situation, please let me know.

When doing the sheep pen gain method (sounds so much better this way than "farm animal gang bang...:D ) make sure you're using a weapon that you have no skill in, and if you have Bushido make sure to use a shield.

Well you know, sometimes a lone warrior can be lonely :)

Hmm, I found out that if your Bushido is higher than your parry, your parry does not raise.

However, this does not happened every time, my last warrior, an Elf, happen just level both of the skills fine, got him to GM parry holding nothing bit a dagger.

I've posted this once before on another thread. Just because you have bushido you DO NOT need to use a shield to gain. On a bushido char i gained all the way to 120 parry with no shield, bushido, and holding a 2handed weapon of a skill i don't use.

Zippy, I hear you, I have had a character who gained GM Parry with 96 BSD while holding nothing but a dagger.

However, the said bug where you can only raise parry by either GM BSD first, or have BSD lower than your parry - does indeed happens from time to time.

Thus, if you want to GM your parry first while the skill is higher than BSD, you need to use a shield to raise your parry.

I faced this bug when I first posted this, and have resolved it use this method, this bug may or may not happened to some people, but does not mean it does not exist.

My reply was actually to this post. You don't need a shield if you have bushido. Just a 2handed weapon of a skill you don't use.

If you don't have a shield, then you have a higher Parry chance, which is what you're trying to avoid. The weapon you have doesn't affect Parry, so a shield is necessary if you have Bushido.
