In the past, I don't really think it happend necessarily on or near "the day"... maybe when Patch 56 rolls out? Maybe today's "short outage" will have a surprise but I sort of doubt it.

Anyway, it's probably just wait and see time.

I think in previous years though, the publish that actually did anything for the anniversary hit in early October, not necessarily on the date of the anniversary.

I've played UO for 11 years, non-stop, no taking a break, same original account and I do feel there is a need to celebrate. The fact that it's been around for 11 years alone is enough to celebrate!

Considering that they didn't even consider that this was the 11th year when they were adding Vet Rewards, meaning we'll be waiting another bloody year for rewards that *should* be available now, I'm not exactly holding my breath for much more than a "Here's the code we've used for the past two years, *switch flip*."

Maybe the metal dye tub that's in the client coding will be this year's anniversary present? I don't recall seeing that it's been "used" anywhere yet. This would be the ideal opportunity, and would make pretty much everyone that posts here, if not in the whole game, extremely happy with EA for once.

No offense, but that's what we all thought about the 10th Anniversary, and while I understand there was some turmoil at EA with moving to Mythic and so forth, letting the playerbase down simply because of corporate decisions is pretty much an unacceptable stance to take on stuff.

While I would hope they'd make it up to us this year by doing something really nice for the 11th Anniversary, I've also gotten used to half-baked, incomplete, lackluster performances lately, so I'm really not holding out much by the way of hope.

This is not to say I wouldn't love to be proven wrong. I'll happily eat a little crow if there's something mystical and magical up their sleeves.

Which is almost exactly why I believe it won't happen. Awesome is not exactly something that Mythic is living up to by way of standards for UO at the moment.

I am one of those who cares about uo's 11th anniversary and I am dissapointed that non of the devs have even mentioned it.I would ove something special given out like sping decor tokens or even the stupid "re-gifted" christmas gifts we got last year or even soemtihng unique liek the fluffies we got a while back.

maybe since they aren't the original ones who started uo they don't know the birthdate of uo.Not likely but possible especailly if they care more about daoc and WAR than they do uo, which appears to be true with WAR already bragging about banning 400 cheaters in their first weekend and yet all the usual suspects in uo run free.

(I am not being negative here only speaking the truth about appearances.)

I liked the holiday choice method of quite a few years ago. You get one item out of 4 or 5, but it's an item of your choosing. Not 5 candy canes, and 3 gingerbread cookies, and a sled deed, and snow, and a tree all in a stocking. I used the holiday as an example. I think another anniversery cake or coin or something would be fine.

Well considering this storyline has taken years, and new events are pretty rare, what's coming and will be coming in the future doesn't seem very important. I'm guessing if the events/storyline aren't important enough to be added to regularly, the anniversaries are not even really important enough to be noticed. :/

I'm actually embarrassed for UO management.

I can understand the economics of big business, and its mindset on smaller assets like UO, but to totally ignore it's anniversary, sends a very negative message to its player base. EA doesn't need more negative messages going out to the player base.
Management fumbled the ball. Jeremy tried to catch it, but 2 sentences isn't enough.
