Honor virtue and taming?

Exactly how does taming work with honor? I heard taming greater drags is easier with honor. Can someone explain this to me and what tier etc. I should be before using it with taming greater drags?

First you should make Knight of honor.

Each level of honor makes the virtue last longer when used.

I kill Balies to gain honor. In the end when using my Greater Draggie it takes over 20 Ballies to gain one dot of honor. I could stone skills around so i could use a dexer to gain honor which is faster but I dont fell like it.

Now once you have Knighted Honor, all you do is use the virtue on yourself and monster will ignore you just like Spell Weaving Etheral voyage, and when you anger them, as long as they are not close enought to hit you with mele skills (one tile), you can anger them all you want until the Virtue wears off then you agro them again.

Each time you use honor oyu use one dot of honor.

Honor...a tough thing for a Tamer to gain! Here's a list of things that improve your Honor gains or, conversely, reduce your gains:

1 Allowing your opponent to damage you first.
2 Engaging in one-on-one combat.
3 Not using ranged weapons, unless you stay in the same spot where you honored your opponent, or you only damage your opponent while adjacent to them.
4 Not allowing your pets or summoned creatures to help you during the battle.
5 Avoiding the use of poison.

A Tamer, by nature, must break 3 of the 5 rules (unless you can figure out a way to Honor your target and then get it to agro on pet before your pet agros on the target). There might be a Tamer/Warrior template that could allow, say, a Balron to attack the Tamer first, then bring in a pet and not move a step, thereby breaking only one of the rules. But I can't figure out that template which must have (for me) 120 Taming, 120 Lore and 110 Vet. I wonder if anyone has done this?

My Tamer made it to to second level, 7th dot Honoring Cu (just make sure your Karma doesn't turn negative or everything in the Wield will attack you on sight!). As a Tamer training Honor, I never gained Honor if I moved after Honoring my pet's target. Just never move! That's why I like Cus...yes they are a slower gain but they don't target-switch and there's very little else in the Wield that will attack you.

At second level, it seems as though Honoring lasts about 1.5-2 minutes. If you make it to level 3, I think it lasts 3 minutes but after that single 3 minute Honor your back on level 2.

Each Honor takes away one dot.

For Taming Greaters, I ran around using Invis potions while scouting for a decent Drag. I only used Honor when I started Taming. Don't want to waste those precious little dots!
