Well seeing that you are on a blue I can understand your confusion.

IMO the more the better. Up till recently one griefer could knockout all healers near the moongates within a few minutes. Is that the problem for you? Cant keep up?

Electronic Arts has always owned Ultima Online.

This whole publish has been a disaster. They rushed it through Test Center with a whole bunch of serious bugs. The housing thing is just a total disgrace.

I can't believe they haven't apolgized for this horrible mess.

Jeremy even had the nerve to refer to these huge problems as Small Kinks.

Terrible job.

I would rather have red healers on my screen than some old guy called "Donkey Kong" riding about in a garish green outfit.

WRONG.

As for your displeasure with whatever it is your mad about now....good.I`m waiting for your "I quit" thread so we can stop see`ing all your insightful posts.

I like all the changes, don`t think they rushed it at all.As for multi healers hangin around a MG? Wow is that bad,why would a red want all those healers around? I like all the plants, especially since I can`t keep my pot vendor stocked lately.I`d love to use some of the higher vet rewards like the stumps but o well.I`m happy with the com box at the house.Thats a welcome change.I just wish my day off didn`t change, had planned an all day play today till the phone rang last night....DERNIT! O well Sunday it is.....

I don`t think they owned em from day one.I remember playing when OSI owned it,and remember when EA bought it.EA may have owned it most of the time, but I doubt they were around during it`s inception and early play days.
I think EA came into the picture for/around the UO:R release.I`m prolly wrong about exactly when they came in,but I know EA has not owned OSI from day one.

UO was published in '96. EA owned OSI as far back as '92, if not a bit earlier.

Your are wrong EA bought Origin in 1992

[edit] History

The company was founded in 1983 by brothers Robert and Richard Garriott, their father Owen and Chuck Bueche after Richard had terminated his contract with Sierra On-Line to publish the third part in Richard's Ultima series, Ultima III: Exodus.[citation needed]
In September 1992, Electronic Arts acquired the company.
In 1997, they released one of the earliest and most successful graphical MMORPGs, Ultima Online. After this title, Electronic Arts decided that Origin would become an online-only company after the completion of Ultima IX in 1999. However, within a year's time, EA canceled all of Origin's new development projects, including Ultima Online 2, Privateer Online, and Harry Potter Online. Richard Garriott left Origin shortly after and founded Destination Games in 2000.
In later years, Origin mainly existed to support and expand Ultima Online and to develop further online games based on the Ultima franchise such as Ultima X: Odyssey, originally to be released in 2004 but later canceled. In February 2004, the studio was disbanded by Electronic Arts.

It was late 1992. I believe the last title published solely under Origin Systems, Inc. was Forge of Virtue. My Serpent Isle box has "an Electronic Arts company" printed under the Origin logo. SI was published in '93, Forge of Virtue in '92. They left the name intact as a "studio" (much like they've done thus far with Mythic) until 2004.

Guess I'm just too slow!

As memory serves, if you check the boxes, I think AoS was the last thing with the Origin Logo and name on it.
But EA did own OSI, just let them keep using their name/logo till then.

Yup Origin was just a division. Kind of like ea sports division and so on. Besides, where do you think Origin got the capital and resources to build, release and make an Online Video game? Thats right, EA gave em a mil and said good luck.

As I'm sure it's likely already been said but, the proper title would be "doesnt matter mythic is as bad as osi was." since as it has been said that EA owns the game, OSI and Mythic are the developers.

P.S. - Maybe if they poop a Madden minigame into UO it would get more attention.

SixUnder doesn't know what the difference between OSI and EA is.

EA is Electronic Arts.
EA has always done things a certain way and many disagree with the methods. EA rushes games out the door on a strict deadline and this means many times a game is not really ready for release when it gets pushed out.

OSI was Origin Systems Inc.
OSI was a decent company and was not always associated with EA. Before becoming involved and subsequently absorbed by EA they did things much differently than EA ever has. They never rushed to release a game before it was ready and until UO I don't think the dealt in online gaming just in single player games (early Ultima series) At one point EA became involved and that happened prior to UO way prior actually.

tbh, I had difficult seeing how you were tying the two together. But then, I do not consider the photo to be a bad thing, either. Sure it would be handy if they spread out a bit more ... but I would rather have alot then none at all!
