What I would like to see is Energy Vortexes returned to the power house that they used to be before AoS.

They could almost kill people in 2 to 3 hits. Very bad @$$, but sadly they were nerfed.. go figure.

lets get one really bad assumption out of the way.
no one goes up and attacks a tamer with a GD. its called invis dragon. sit like bait. get attacked. all kill. followed by an paralize last targer + all kill. and smapping miniheal against a greater dragon.. no.

i agree with everybody who wants to see greater dragons GONE FROM UO.

They serve no purpose and are completly the WORST update to the game since trammel was added.

They are insanely overpowered and DO NOT BELONG IN UO, you should see how badly they have affected siege pvp. There is AT LEAST 1-2 tamers on every side of the field during pvp, and multiple blue tamers camp choke points on siege waiting for random reds to all kill.

Why get rid of GDs? You used to be able to control 5 at once... what's worse? If I wanted to play a GROUP oriented game where you have to use a group to kill anything noteworthy of loot i'd play WoW or EQ. UO is great because it allows you to solo a lot of stuff for good loot. Not have to spend hours upon hours camping a certain mob for a few good items. Some people don't have time to spend all day doing that crap.

Yes, things need to get fixed with GD's and PvP. But what doesn't need to get fixed with PvP? It's not what it used to be. It will never be that way unless you play on a free server. It sucks that UO went to item based like WoW, EQ and all other similar games. I prefered to walk around with short pants, sandals and a halberd owning people on my mage.

You have to ADAPT to the ever lame changing development of the game. Just wait till the new gargoyle race comes out, i'm sure there will be even more gimp stuff going on. Let's allow more success on ehancing uber items so everyone can run around with top of the line l337 crap. PvP will then be, who can get their special off before the other. This game is taking less and less skill. If you don't know how to handle a tamer on your own, maybe you shouldn't be PvPing. Don't complain that it's PvPvM or whatever. If the tamer is hard to kill, that means they're most likely better than you. There's a couple tamers on Baja that are a PITA to kill. Ninja + EP + stealth. Yes it's a pain, but they ARE killable. Even 1v1.

I'm more concerned about hackers/speeders than I am with any gimp template in existence today. It's no fun being chased by someone who can pretty much cast level 4+ spells on the run, seem to ALWAYS be on your heels if not in front of you, running OVER stumps/gravestones.

I'm guessing the people dying to tamers in PvP either don't know wtf they're donig or have a crappy PC/Connection and can't outrun the tamer and don't know they should/need to carry the appropriate potions. FYI, a LOT of PvP tamers don't have resist in their template... unless they've got a trapped box and you're a mage, easy kill. Dexer... learn to fight better

UO pvp isnt supposed to be rock paper scissors. That is class based pvp, and UO is not supposed to be this, although overpowered templates make this to be the case. Uh? It is the skill of the player which was intended to win fights in UO, not the template/items that you have.

Oh, Ok, so an Archer will beat a Warrior (Range attack mitigates up close and personal requirements of the warrior). Mage will beat the Archer (magic range attack mitigates the arrow/bolt). Warrior will beat the Mage.

If a systems is not tuned to every template has it Achilles Heal (AKA ROCKvsSCISSORSvsPAPERvsROCK) then you have the ERA OF THE TANK MAGE, were everyone is identical and YES THEN IT IS THE PERSONS SKILL VS THE PERSONS SKILLS.

You have every one exactly the same OR you have every template have an Achilles Heal (AKA WEAKNESS) OR you have CHAOS with whining, crying, "Oh Mommy please make me UBER"

For me you PvPers should be concerned about the nerfing of PvP. Insurance, need for uber items, instant rezzing practically, no loot on your kills.

You PvP with no risk.
To me thats unbalance. Dieing with a 6k loss and getting back into the fight in 1 minute... come on. PvP needs more then a debuff to a dragon.

Look tamers have been geting owned for years and laughed at. Now they the new temp that rocks. They are still on foot and not that mobile and if your buddy leads the dragon away they die. They have a big weapon also for pvm those dragons help alot its a new tactic just learn to get around it. Hey at least those tamers can't be 4/6 like we mages used to be so be greatful for that or make a tamer your self. Btw the way those greater dragons make amazing choke points.

Tamers have never been weak in PvP, EVER, ever since I can remember (8 years). Why? Because it isn't like all you can do is command your pet. If you're a regular old tamer mage, then you have a player that can be almost as effective as a fully scrolled out mage, along with pets that can eat you. Again, tamers have never been underpowered or laughed at, they were just an annoyance to play, and a lot of pvpers don't consider it to take very much skill (it certaintly takes micromanagement, you get no argument from me there, but if a pet warps to you and kills you before you can do anything, or does a double fs explode on you offscreen... yeah), hence the lack of serious pvp tamers.

Example: When AoS first came out, I would take on 5/6 mages with a 2/5 set and my white wyrm. Mind you, I was an extremely competent mage, and caught onto the game of interrupts early on. But still, this was my first time playing a tamer in pvp since I started UO, and I had zero problems managing it. When I got 4/6 and had the wyrm? Hah. It was laughable.

Point: If you think tamers were ever underpowered, then you just sucked at pvp, plain and simple.

FYI: 4/6 casting was balanced, as dexers could also swing at 2/x second. I could take 3 5/6 mages at a time with my dexer, as I could drop them in under 1 1/2 seconds each. There was huge power disparity between those itemed out and those not, which is why it was considered to be unbalanced. Now we're back to those days with dexer weapons (and - magery items and whatever), so yeah.

The easiest way to drop a tamer is still the same as it was when we had 5 pets in stead of one. Lure the pet away then kill the tamer. (The weakest link in the tamer/pet relationship) Remember a pet an a tamer is a team. If your by yourself your at a disadvantage. Go find a friend and even the playing field.

Tactics not nerfing. Learn how to play in stead of having the game tailor made for you!

Pvp is suppose to be two-hit-archer-kills, dexxer-deadly-poison-spamming, corpseskin-flamestrike from necro mages.

people wouldnt complain if there wasn't TONS of bull**** going on. its not like i've been instant killed by a dragon once or twice, i've been instant killed by greater dragons hundreds of times. Its completely random and there is NO way to stop it, if the dragon actually HITS you there is probalby a 25-30% chance that you're gonna die from the spells its casting on you. If it hits, bleeds, double flamestrikes, harms, and explodes you're dead because you also just took a lightning+damage+dismount damage.

Not to mention they are IMPOSSIBLE to kill because of their 800+ HP, anytime you attempt to kill the dragon the tamer just logs in/out and has it back next to him. its utter bull****.

Why the hell does everyone use the "Lure the pet away" Argument.. That used to work.. With the New pet commands.. Even if you flag on it.. The tamer can say all follow me and the pet will completely ignore agressors.

You can no longer lure a pet away from an intelligent tamer..
