Plants will only advance growth stages on server up, and then only if they have been in a valid location for 24 hours.
Which means that you WILL need to wait MORE then 24 hours for the first growth update. This is because there's no way 24 hours will have passed before the first server up.
I found fertile dirt also helps keep them healthy but once again there is no data to back this upPlanted in fertile dirt? They can have grow spurts.![]()
FYI, from my understanding you will only get 3 different types of plants from that lot. Too me, it sounds like each monster will only drop 3 different types of plants; 3 different monsters will drop the same 3 types of plants; there are 5? groups of 3monsters/seeds. Something along those lines, but the main point is that all plants grown from the seeds of one type of monster will be of a limited variety.Mine (all from ant lions) didn't grow either and they're in my backpack. Might not be quite 24 hours yet.
edit: they went through their cycle ... I just must have been playing later than I thought I was last night
If you have soggy seeds, you might consider reclaiming the seed and starting over. Once they grow they will likely be sickly (and some may not grow at all till they either die out or dry out). If you decide you want the seed back (and before the plant bowls turn to green bowls), you can click the little plant bowl in the lower right corner, then click for the check mark (it will show a picture of a plant bowl and seed). This returns the seed and an empty bowl to you.Anyone have a growth cycle yet? Mister Brown thumb here, all I have is soggy vibrant seeds.
Planted mine....roughly 10am yesterday.
Locked down plants won't grow in packs or boxes, yes. Plants carried in backpacks, beetles you log out while riding, or your bank box (and any container inside of any of those) will grow, and has always been this way. (why yours didn't is beyond me -maybe the weirdness that Flora spoke of)I;ve had a plant in my pack for ages now ... (to lazy to grow it) and it hasnt grown. (its in stage 4 now) and no its not the new seeds its a rare aqua seed.
locked it down yesterday before server down and after it needs water... Plants never used to grow inside packs or boxes they had to be locked down .
As I understand it, it's 4 plant types per group of 3 monsters (that would be 4x4= 16 since there are 12 monsters). Also all monsters have the ability to spawn with a fragrant seed (which will be a cocoa tree).FYI, from my understanding you will only get 3 different types of plants from that lot. Yes, that math was messing with me. I didn't have the data in front of me and I thought there were only 12 mobs, but I thought that it was based off of 15 plants and that the 16th was just an alternate of one of the 15(short hedge/tall hedge), however that appears to be an incorrect memory. Anyhow, that is why I added the last line restating from the main point, because I wasn't positive about the numbers I provided. As I understand it, it's 4 plant types per group of 3 monsters (that would be 4x4= 16 since there are 12 monsters). I had weird stuff happen too - I had 32 total plants (ready for petals and thorns, they were all bright green and bright orange) but cos I'm not able ot be on lately at any regular times, I had them in a secure chest in my house (have been in there for a month or two) - yesterday since I knew I was going to be on for new plants, I went to chuck themin my backpack too, and there's only 3 left alive! And then only barely, all are sickly, the other 29 pots are just hard dirt =/I;ve had a plant in my pack for ages now ... (to lazy to grow it) and it hasnt grown. There'll be a growth check at server up, but no growing. In the top right corner you'll see a red plus, which signifies the plant tried to grow but was in an invalid location (any plants left in a house must be locked down directly, out in the open, not in any container, in order to get to grow). If the plants are in a secure container, will there be a growth check?
...already answered with a better answer above...If the plants are in a secure container, will there be a growth check?
Plants in your backpack will and do grow. If you took them out of a secure, and logged out with them - and then logged back in after server up the next day, then they'll grow since it's been over 24 hours since the last time they tried to grow. (if the plants were at all sickly before they got the growth, then it's entirely possible that a lot of them died)....unless I'm misunderstanding what you are saying....I had weird stuff happen too - I had 32 total plants (ready for petals and thorns, they were all bright green and bright orange) but cos I'm not able ot be on lately at any regular times, I had them in a secure chest in my house (have been in there for a month or two) - yesterday since I knew I was going to be on for new plants, I went to chuck themin my backpack too, and there's only 3 left alive! Wierd, the shouldn't have grown/deteriorated in a secure container, from what I remember. I usually keep plants on my char, so that if I can't log on to attend to them then they don't advance until I do. I have about 40 of the new seeds growing on one char. At least 3 from each monster so that I can, hopefully help link plant groups to monster groups. Then I also have separate miscellaneous extra seeds growing in a house, if I loose them then no biggie.I had weird stuff happen too - I had 32 total plants (ready for petals and thorns, they were all bright green and bright orange) but cos I'm not able ot be on lately at any regular times, I had them in a secure chest in my house (have been in there for a month or two) - yesterday since I knew I was going to be on for new plants, I went to chuck themin my backpack too, and there's only 3 left alive! Nah, I went to put them in my backpack - they'd been locked in a secure container for a couple of months at least - only time they'd been unlocked at all was for me to gate from one house to the next and lock them down again.Plants in your backpack will and do grow. Oh yeah, that really *is* freaky and shouldn't be happening for sureNah, I went to put them in my backpack - they'd been locked in a secure container for a couple of months at least - only time they'd been unlocked at all was for me to gate from one house to the next and lock them down again.
They came straight out of the secure container, nearly all of them dead.
Was just weird! (and I have to go hunting bright green/orange seeds again now =P Hoping i have some stashed in a chest somewhere! =D)
I also had this happen. I always store my plants in Vibrant condition. Lately I'm noticing some of them in secure containers are wilted or dieing! A real pain since we still don't have seed packets.Oh yeah, that really *is* freaky and shouldn't be happening for sureNah, I went to put them in my backpack - they'd been locked in a secure container for a couple of months at least - only time they'd been unlocked at all was for me to gate from one house to the next and lock them down again.

What server are you on? If Lake Austin, I can toss you some Bright Orange Seeds... I have about 90 Single Barrel Cacti growing right now.Nah, I went to put them in my backpack - they'd been locked in a secure container for a couple of months at least - only time they'd been unlocked at all was for me to gate from one house to the next and lock them down again.

I didn't know that... so if you are planting in Fertile to accelerate growth, you are wasting your time if you aren't dosing greater stregth as well? Is that something new? I don't remember that being the case from way back when... I just thought the bonus was first growth check (normal) decided on water, fungus, bugs etc... then if fertile, small chance for bonus growth with no extra "health" checks so you won't go red anywhere. There is actually.
Each day a plant grows in fertile dirt, it gets a Chance at a bonus.
On a day it gets one, either of 2 things will happen.
If the plant has fungus, insects, etc, the bonus will be the removal of a negative effect.
If the plant does not have such an effect, the bonus will be that it ages 1 extra day.
So while fertile dirt can help keep a plant healthy, it does so at the cost of accelerated growth. So if you are trying to get a plant grown quickly, use 2 Greater Strength each day to keep infections at the absolute minimum, letting the fertile dirt give extra growth days rather than maintenance.
1/2 - there's 4 different plant/mob groups (each group is 4 plants, 3 monsters)I have lots of the new plants growing, like 60+ but only from two mobs... Ant Lions and Mummies, so here's hoping those two are in different mob groups  and I get a decent spread of the plants...:bowdown::bowdown:
I know I'll be missing at least 1/3 of the new plants.
*wonders why he is addicted to chocolate*erm well I know we have cocoa plants, but coca plants?
I have to disagree, I planted at 4pm thursday. Sever up on friday no change in status of the plants I check again at 8pm the status advanced one day and needed watering. Rather it's intended to be this way or not but this is how mine are growing. Since publish I've successfully grown over 100 new plants and continue planting daily so that everyday I have new batch of plants. I've planted just a couple hours before server went down and noticed those plants didn't need water till the next night before server down and after the 2nd day they were needing water at server up.Plants will only advance growth stages on server up,
