Maybe this belongs in the Bard forums, but it doesn't seem to get visited by the Dev's. And we are talking about the expansion in UHall after all...
I haven't read all of the discussions on the new Imbuing, but I didn't find anything specifically about ability to Imbue bardic instruments. PLEASE let us imbue instruments! And with NEW and USEFUL abilities.
There really hasn't been much done for the bards in UO lately, so we would really appreciate it. Since only non-artifact items will be imbued, and since instruments eventually wear out, it shouldn't be over-powering. Or even make it so the instrument needs to be equipped to use the imbued property.
What I would most like to see are party and group buffs. Some possible suggestions:
+5% Exceptional Bonus to instrument
+2 mana/stamina/health regen as an area effect for party/group
Sanctuary
+5% HCI area effect for party
+10% DCI area effect for party
Random Slayer
Confusion: similar to dispel
Recall: so a Bard doesn't have to be a mage, too
Sleep: slows all enemies to a walk
Silence: stops spellcasting of an enemy
Effect and durations would have to be balanced of course.
OH, and while we (me) are wishing, how about new songs/music imbued into the instrument? Music specific to the spell perhaps? ANYTHING but the same music that's been played since the beginning of time!
Give us Bards and Bardettes a little game love.
