The UO site lists RoT for 70-79.9 as 3.6 pts per day, yet today i have gained over 8 pts in 70+ skills. Am I missing a new post/updated page or is this new to everyone?

I'd make sure you don't have +skill jewels on. Maybe you aren't actually 70+ in the skill

I am a newbie, only 4 days old. I have no jewels and no armor to be honest. I am only going by what I have read about RoT. The only thing that could be off is either the info given, or that the system has changed. I am over 9 pts now, 6.5 in one skill

The 3.6 that you refer to is actually 3.6%, thats 36 actual point gains. What it sounds like to me is that you have gained .8 in one skill so far...which is normal. Correct me if im wrong though

No sir you are incorrect; I do not post lightly. I have gained from 73.6 up to 80.1 so far in hiding. I do have to correct an earlier post as it was not 8 pts in one skill, only 6, tho i have gained 2.1 in music which also happens to be from 70+

I have noticed now though, now at 80.1 hiding, that my gains have stopped. Maybe the 70ish gain limit was reduced, seeing as how within 24 hrs i have totally surpassed the 70s

Gains reset at 9pm eastern time, so if you started early, you could get your 36 gains then it hits 9pm and your gains reset so you started your next set of 36 gains.

besides that you either won UO, in finding a way to circumvent ROT, something every sieger is restricted with, or you are/were under effects of alacrity, or finally am wearing some sort of +skill jewel/armor and went into rot later though.

or you had gains showing up on total for day before you hit rot?

The Official GM response was to submit a bug report. If skill gains in hiding are a bug I am sure someone more welfare-oriented would have submitted such. Seeing as how Hiding is such a valuable skill on siege I see no need to submit it as a bug. If my message to the GMs about it was not worth recording then a bug report will not be either.

If anyone else experiences such "bugs" in their skill gains which also happen to stop at 80ish, I commend you. As I said before; either the cap has increased, or it is not worth serious attention.

I hope this this my last newbieish post to any UO forum, as I am lack to broadcast my ignorance.

9 pm EST may explain some of it; but i definitely had over 5.0+ pt gains between 12pm EST and 9pm EST, which is not within the scope of UO's official siege RoT documentation. I would love to be corrected and have some clear idea of how things work here.

ROT currently kicks in at 8pm EST, and I'm beginning to wonder if they slipped in that ROT adjustment we have been begging for and forgot to tell us.

I have noticed this over the last few weeks, that i seem to gain more then I should.

And SoA has nothing to do with it. SoA only allows you to gain .2-.5 at a time, but still affected by the RoT Cap.

if you look at the guide alittle further down there is a change to 5.0 gains at 70s so if you spaned 2 days you should get 10.0 gains.
for some reason I could not get my full gains, I only got 4.9 each time.

I know sweeney wasnt getting more then .1, but another poster listed being under SoA, so they cant tell about rot
