So, this is the place to post and, potentially, get the fastest response. I don't think we're actually forbidden from asking gameplay advice questions here.

My noob necro-fencer is at 93.2 fencing.

What do I fight next?

The warrior forum has various suggestions, and while I haven't tried all of them yet, the ones I have tried (NPC Warriors and Earth Elementals and Ratmen and other rat creatures) are not working.

Not yet.

:)

Thank you.

The worst thing is I have absolutely no memory of how I got Galen to 120 Swords. Or this would be a lot easier.

I suggest a Golem, that's what all the PvPers use on my shard for quick skill gains. But this is way boring.

I always use Riktor spawn for weapon gains (I use Fel spawns, but Ilsh is also an option). It works amazingly well ... also good for tactics gains :)

Stone harpies they have high skill to train against.

When I build dexxers skills such as swords, macing and fencing I start with ettins till my skill is around 60 - 65 then move to earthies untill I reach mid 80s then stone harpies until GM+. After GM you can use the skill and let it raise as you play and it usually goes pretty quick if your fighting anything decent with a group. Don't forget you can become discorded for faster gains when your skill gets up there.

Ish Spirituality, go North of the Champ spawn alter, in the inset on the wall area. Stone harpies, reg harpies & paras spawn there. They will take you to 120 there. GL

Gain is difficulty based so figure the optimal gain based on your skills vs each monster and go from there.

Best place to go to take you all the way to 120 is the Yomatsu mines. Go past the Earth & Dull Copper eles, past the first "room" with a single warrior and a single Earth Ele, to the second "room". There are 2 warriors that spawn in there. They take a while to kill, so by the time you've gotten the 2nd one down, the first has respawned again, so it's non stop as long as you want to stay in there. I took Connor to 120 Swords & 120 Macing in that room.

I used a combination of Ogre Lords, Stone Hapries, and Swoop. (I realize that swoop is no longer an option if you intend to train solo)

I used a golem to get to 110 fencing recently. If you want to go that route, I can make you one.

I used rotting corpses in ilshenar to get to 110 archery recently. It may be harder to go this route with a melee character since they get hit and killed by the corpse's poison.

Check out the Warrior Forum. There's a sticky that describes what to fight.

Personally, I fought Ogre Lords in Despise and Daemons in Hythloth from 90-120.

Are you folks all sure that weapon skill gains are difficulty-based?

My macer is currently 115+, and is gaining (not just GGS), from fighting lots of low-end critters like lizards and earth eles.

I may be wrong, but it appears to me that gains are based on the number of weapon swings, rather than the difficulty of the enemy.

Im an Elder Fencer So I know what you goin through. Depends on how good your other skills are and the equip. you are using really.

Personally for training I dont like bein bored and have just one account and computer...so for me Golems have always been out the question. If your like me and not a Golem Lover then:

weaker chars-
Black Solen Infiltrators- (while your at it you can stock up on zoogi fungus to do the solen ant quest for T powder and BOS. They are useful during events and you dont have to bank stuff. 3 BOS bags and 140 Tpowder = 4hrs or more of action with no banking required) Also good for training pets like Firesteeds, Mares, or other tamables that arent strong enough to take down Ogre Lords with ease 1 vs 1. The infiltrators are 80ish in wrestling like the trogs

midway chars-
Trogs- these r great because of the faster spwan rate...dont hit veryhard...are 80ish in wrestling...and as long as you dont go in with uber duber def chance increase you can get good parry gains also.

Cyclopean Warriors/Titans in Despise- Put here instead of weaker char cuz usually newer players dont have good magic def armor which Titans may cause trouble with but...if you got decent magic resists 55+ or so then it good choice. you get chance at arty drop. Decent place for low end pets too. Tone down the def chance increase and u can gain a lil parry....Trogs R better IMHO though...

Strong Chars-
Despise Ogre Lords- I say despise Ogre Lord because the artic ones dont have as good wrestling. Despise OL are around 90ish while the artic one are around 80ish. Also you get arty drop chance here without having to mess with any "real" high end monsters. If it gets boring jus carry a piece of black rock...black rock makes everything funs :) good parry gains here too as long as you lay off the def chance increase.

Can also get Glorious Lord title on them which you can use to gain in sacrifice for self resurrections!

anyone remember when you could train on rotting corpses and just double click a shrine in Ilshenar to cure? does that still work?

I dunno about the accuracy of that monster skill chart.....earth eles only got like 70ish wrestling if I can member correctly cuz on my tamer i stopped trainin my firesteed on them once he got high 70's and switched to the black solens cuz their wrestling was mid 80's when I lored them.

You talkin about paras or BR infected ones?

I think Shadow eles around 90 tho...
