There are many games that are hack & slash online, without much depth for non-combatants. Ultima Online is special because of these alternatives.

I hate gardening in game. Its dull and just a lot of mouse clicking. However, I do appreciate it being added to the game because it gives yet another example of uo's potential depth.
Now if Tinkerers could make little spades and gardening forks!!!

If I could make my UO garden look just like my real garden, I'd be soooooo happy. Unfortunately, they're only adding 15 new plants, and that wouldn't begin to cover it, heh. I think I have that many varieties of iris alone!
On the other hand, if I could make cure potions for my real garden like I do for my UO garden, that would be equally cool. Seattle weather + rose bushes = fungus fungus fungus fungus...

You need a mortar & pestle (or your plant waterer)
After you have your chamomile tea, put the bags in the waterer.. err.. mortar and pestle.
*poof* instant cure potion for your rose fungi.
(use mist mode for the ones with smaller leaves)
I guess you probably don't water them, but if you spray them after it rains each day
it should work.

There the quote is fixed. If you want to play a "special game" that offers "special content" that is designed to appeal to "special people" then go play SIMs or Second Life because both of those games handle those areas of the game 100x better than UO does.

I like being able to do other than the hack and slash. It makes the game interesting. If all I wanted to do was hack and slash I'd play a regular console game.
Unlike alot of people on UO.. I DO know people who JUST garden on UO.... they dont like to fight monsters.... they do some crafting.... the rest of the time they are gardening...... While its something I DONT understand... .Its there right to do so in UO..

You have to look at it this way, if it wasn't for people growing plants then there wouldn't be any green thorns, orange petals or red leaves. Plus all the cool plants like the mutants and rare colors. If there wasn't anyone growing plants there would be no green thorns for vines or colored eggs or orange petals for poison resist or red leaves to make books permanent.
